For the last 12 years, I have used a variety of paddle floats. Typically, the quality of paddle floats are lacking. I've had issues with valves, size, and quality. The new rolling float by Gearlab addresses all those issues. They use one valve to inflate both chambers instead of two typical valves and the quality is much better than any one I’ve used before. It rolls up very tightly and has a built-in hook to keep from unrolling, a simple and elegant design that I really like. And even better, it serves not only a rescue gear but also a training tool. I will definitely have it with me whenever I am on water. It is a perfect blend of innovation and function.

The rolling-float has been really well designed. It corrects all the errors of previous inflatable paddle-float :- very ergonomic- compact AND ingenious inflation valve- PERFECTLY adapted to Greenland paddles (which is extremly RARE!)- Well-designed folding (the little hook is also ingenious)Very good product.May be a litle to expensive

Useful for helping with learning rolls and as a paddle float. As a safety device it should have a safety color as an option.

I have not had occasion to use the paddle float yet but I understand it to be of top quality and design. I bought it as part of a set including a bilge pump and deck tunnel bag. I plan to use it when I work on boat reentry or rolling.

I'm new to rolling, and I was told to get one of these to help feel a bit more comfortable in the water! I spent a day recently just testing this thing out, Between laying on my back and learning to scull with my Kayak to using it as a hand aid to help roll! It's amazing, high quality doesn't leak air and honestly I'll keep this thing with me always! It could easily be attached to my deck uninflated, or even stored in my cockpit with me further up from my feet. (I wouldn't want it between my legs to trap me or anything.) that being said it's a great extra tool for emergency rescue situations. If I had to wet exit for whatever reason and this was already inflated I could easily attached it to my paddle and assist with re-entering my kayak or just pull it off my deck after flipping the Kayak and inflate it from the water if I really had too!100% recommend this especially if you're learning to roll or just wanting to get more comfortable being in the water with your Kayak!

This is the best paddle float I have found. It secures on a greenland paddle with an extra strap. It has the best single valve I have seen. It also rolls up nicely and clips all rolled up. In addition to its use as a paddle float it works great as a rolling trainer. The handles are strong and provide a secure hand hold. Great product.
