Had a stripped oil drain plug Bolt (spent three hours trying to get it out without the Bolt Biter), but once the set was delivered, a few attempts later, I got the Bolt to move and it's the best feeling in the world!!! These Sockets are a MUST HAVE for every D.I.Y.'er. A totally AMAZING TOOL!!!

These sockets are worth their weight when you need to remove a rounded or heavily rusted piece of hardware. Tap it in place with a hammer and use a ratchet or impact gun to easily remove that stuck fastener.

At first I found this kit a little on the expensive side, but ultimately it has saved me invaluable time and headache to the point that it has paid for itself 10x over. This holds especially true for stuck brake caliper bolts in my particular case. The sockets are durable, well made, and I use them in an abusive professional environment yet they still have the bite and grip they did from day 1.The only “drawback” I ever had was just from the nature of this type of socket, sometimes it won’t bite into bolts quickly without help of a clamp or hammer. No big deal, these are pass through sockets so if a fastener gets stuck in it you can knock it out with ease.

I don't write many reviews let alone positive ones so that should tell you something right there. As for this product the straight flute design is a great idea and is why I chose this product over the typical spiral/conical/one directional flutes that everyone else makes. 1. As mentioned in the description, straight flutes allow you to loosen and tighten. This is incredibly helpful when gently working a fastener free so as not to break off the stud or bolt in the part. 2. Other designs that "cut" into the fastener can ruin threaded studs that go past the nut, especially when severely corroded and you have to use the smallest extractor possible. That being said, I have recently removed exhaust flange nuts that were practically disintegrated down to the threads on the studs. Access was also limited as the flange had a deep lip that went around the perimeter preventing the use of vice grips or a splitter, it had to be a socket. These were 14mm nuts some of which were so bad I had to use the 11mm bolt biter to spin them off. I thought this would definitely gall the studs a little, but there was just enough bite to grab the smallest amount of metal and spin the nut. Remember, these don't cut/dig into the fastener like other designs which would have ruined my studs. After that all I had to do was run a die over the studs to clean up the roots of the threads and they were good to go.Looking at my pics you would think that can't be real....yeah, and so did I when I was taking apart my exhaust. And, yes, you can actually see between the individual threads of some of those nuts they were that far gone. To be fair, I did employ the usual old school tactics pre soaking with penetrating fluid and using a torch to "break" the corrosion that fuses everything together. Anything less would have made this task impossible regardless of how great the tool. You have to put in your due diligence to solve your particular problem/situation. Don't expect any tool to save your ass, use your head and figure it out. The tool is merely an aid to your success and this particular design allowed me to do just that.I knocked off one star because these are made in China. I should actually give it only two stars because it's made in China maybe even no stars, but I think the design is fantastic and I want to give credit where it's due. I would have gladly paid more for these if made in the USA.

I work on industrial rotating equipment. I occasionally do field work for my employer. And these sockets more than once saved my ass. They were to grab on a rounded off nub of what was left of a pipe plug. It was leaking and needed to be changed. And the second time i used them was in a hard to reach spot in the drip pocket of a pump. Had to get the stuffing box studs out of the pump case. These sockets work juust wish they make bigger one. The amount of time and grief these have saved me is immeasurable.
