GearWrench 9240 4 piece SAE double box ratcheting wrenchesI've used Gearwrench's ratcheting wrenches for well over 10 years. When they first debuted, I was hesitant to buy the sets because of the price, so I bought the one wrench I absolutely needed at the time (17mm). It cut down the installation time on the rear shocks for my Crown Victoria significantly. When I installed a new set of Heavy-Duty Bilstein rear shocks on the Mustang, the 17mm Gearwrench came to the rescue again and it just tightened down the top nut in under a minute.I decided to buy the whole metric and SAE sets, and found the best price at Amazon.comThis SAE set includes (5/16 x 3/8"), (7/16 x 1/2"), (9/16 x 5/8"), and (11/16 x 3/4") wrenches. Rather than a heavy and complex reverse setting, you simply flip the wrench around. There are 2 SAE sizes per wrench, so only 4 wrenches are needed for 8 sizes. The ratcheting heads grip the flat surfaces of the bolts to prevent wearing down the hex head corners. The chrome finish is top quality, and although I was tempted to go with less expensive competitor's products, I've spent quite a bit on Gearwrench brand tools and they never failed me. As with all tools, I find that you get what you pay for, and cheap tools from Harbor Freight tend to be disposable with few exceptions. The SAE set covers most of the popular sizes that I've had to use when working on my cars. Most of the late model cars and motorcycles tend to use metric sizes. Only Ford seems to be stuck in limbo with a mix of metric and SAE fastener sizes! The legacy parts that are still used on late model Fords tend to be SAE (shock dampener bolts, chassis parts) while the newly designed components are metric (engine components). The ratcheting wrenches are used in tight areas where a socket will not fit, or in special situations where you need to hold a stud as you tighten the nut with the wrench. The ratcheting wrench is a true time saver and will prevent wearing down the bolt versus using a standard box or open ended wrench.Overall: 5/5 stars, affordable and high quality tools, ratcheting wrenches are perfect for tight spots and will absolutely cut down on your work time versus standard box or open-ended wrenches.

Had a water pump bolt that this wrench was the only way to reach it without taking apart a bunch of other stuff. Huge time saver and good quality.

I use ratcheting wrenches a lot, almost more than sockets I;d say these days. I like GearWrench tools a lot for these. I can;t fully rate durability as I haven;t had these that long. I will say right out of the box my first impression is they do not have the same "feel" of my metric GearWrench tools. These seem to me to have a coarser feel, perhaps not as fine toothed as my metric set. Could be the same as I didn't perform an elaborate test, just initial impression. The fit the fasteners well and look like they will do the job.

Very well made tools for DYI and professional users like me… I’m a Snap on tool guy but they are always late putting new tools out in the marketplace and I don’t want to duplicate with the tools I already purchased….

Gearwrench builds quality tools. I have a set of metric double ended that I bought about 15 years ago. Don't care for the single ended with open ended wrenches however. These E-torx wrenches are awesome. Could not have replaced the oil filter housing seal on a BMW N55 without it.

This spanner is thicker than a standard ring spanner so check your clearance before you place an order.

Bought it as a gift for my boyfriend. He is a mechanic so he uses them a lot.He says one of the wrenches broke within 1 week of using it, but he got it replaced with the company not through amazon.(Life time insurance)I don’t know much about tools but he definitely recommends this product.

Great for what I needed… tight spot and limited access. Seem like they will last the distance. Case is ok, not world beating. Not sure how they’ll go under high torque but I’m happy with the job they did.
