I wanted to move to an NVMe drive for a little web server I'm running on my Pi5 and this one fits perfectly and works equally as well. So far, I've had no problems and I'd say for the price, it can't really be beat! Installation was super easy of course as it just snaps right onto the top of the Pi.

Does the job and allows coolers to function underneath. More elegant designs may be available depending on your use case but if this fits it it’s worth it. Mine has been perfectly reliable with moderate use. Get a case that has a little extra room up top obviously and it’ll fit great. Speeds are good and installation was straightforward.

On a Pi 5, you can use one device at the full 5000 speed -- pci, or USB. Gigabit ethernet is separate. Real-world data storage transfer is about 750MB/s on a Pi 5 using this adapter in my world, with the pci set to run the more risky pci 3 speed. But then, all USB ports are capped at 480 - no USB speed for the storage. That said, the ethernet port and an Nvme on this adapter managed to saturate gigabit ethernet, and then still have storage bandwidth to and from the processor that is much faster. This is a good device. It came with two ribbon cables, but both were short. When I added a POE+ hat to the Pi, the ribbon cable would not reach, so I had to order the longer cable kit. It would be nice if this kit came with two cables - one short, and one a bit longer for hats that could also be used as a spare. It is working great.

Works as needed, but the cable connection took a few tries to get it to work. But overall like being able to use full length storage and good color. Instructions also clear.

this worked well on my rpi5 but i noticed the hdd activity led light is incredibly bright and lights up the room i have it in way too much as it blinks.i've also found that the red/white rpi case no longer fits and i need to find a new suitable case, especially due to the light issue but also the keep things safe.i haven't tested for speed, etc. but i haven't had any hd issues since i've used this and its fast enough for my home automation needs.

I attached it to my PI 5 added an SD Card, Turned it on and it connects right away.One thing to note IT ONLY WORKS CONNECTED TO A PI 5.

I give it one star because the raspberry pi 5 camera cable doesn't fit in the slot on the board. The cable fans out, gets wider than the board slot. Cable doesn't make it down to connector on board. Otherwise the board does work with SSD's.

This is a very nice upgrade for the Pi. It was very easy to install since I have dealt with these kinds of cables before, and it is much faster than using an SD card. That being said, you don't need to use this to have a good time with your Pi. Be mindful of your case however, as you might need a new one if your case has no clearance above it.

Item (an m.2 add on hat for raspberry pi) worked immediately on my RPi 5. Multi-boot several distros using PINN. Works great. Recommend to anyone that wants to add nvme support to their Pi.

Works as expected. But you need external machine with usb to nvme converter to re image os. If I tried boot Pi5 from sd card try to image directly from within pi. This way is not yet working as nvme is not shown as drive in pi imager. May be it works in future. Also I have observed when I set boot order as sd->nvme->usb. It misses boot for first time. Second time it boots from nvme.this adds to the boot time. Once booted it is very fast.so yes it works as per expectation but setup could be easier. I used wd blue 512gb ssd to flash ubuntu.

Seriously. Save 8 hours of troubleshooting by just getting this unit instead of other cheap ones. Don’t be cheap like me who pays the tripple price in the end.
