About this item

  • Supports UART & STEP/ DIR: Geeetech TMC2209 with heat sink. Supports UART mode by set jumper caps, Our TMC2209 also has standard STEP/ DIR interfaces for easy use.The large-area fan thermal pad will improve heat dissipation of the driver.
  • Support STEP/DIR or UART Mode: The TMC2209 stepper driver is known for its quiet operation, making it ideal for 3D printing applications where noise can be distracting or distracting. Say goodbye to noisy printing.
  • More Accurately: The TMC2209 stepper motor driver provides high accuracy and smooth operation, resulting in improved 3D printing performance. Ensuring better print quality and fewer print errors.Stall detection with indicators
  • Versatile Compatibility: 3D printer stepper driver modules can be used with a wide variety of stepper motors commonly used in 3D printing, making it a versatile option for hobbyists who want to experiment with different motors or upgrade their existing setup.
  • Stable Performance: CoolStep technology allows the 3d printer tmc2209 to control the current dynamically, in order to adapt the motor current for excellent efficiency and low heat-up of motor and driver. Four-layer board welding process ensures stable performance.

INSTRUCTION TMC2209 is the successor of TMC2208 that features all functions it has while dissipating less heat. It supports larger up to 2.8A and allows a maximum subdivision of 256, and infinitely zeroing. Product Name: TMC2209 driver Native Microsteps: up to 256 Peak Current: 2.8A Confguration: STEP/DIR and UART mode Factory Default Current: 1A Voltage: 4.75 - 29V IC Logic Voltage: 3.3/5V Effective Current: 2A Application: 3D printer main control board Weight: 3g FEATURES 1. The motor is not easy to lose its position, which improves printing quality; 2. Ultra- silent mode; 3. Large fan thermal pad improves heat dissipation of the driver; 4. Effectively prevent motor jtter to print more accurately; 5. Four-layer board welding process ensures more stable performance; 6. Stall detection with indicators; 7. Support STEP/DIR or UART mode 8. Easy to DIY and operate TIPS 1. Be sure to disconnect the power supply before installing the driver to prevent the driver from burning. 2. Before installing the driver, check the direction to prevent reverse connection (The reference board is the same as the module silkscreen). 3. Do not plug or unplug the driver while power is on. 4. When installing heat sink, be careful not to touch the heat sink and pin headers to prevent shorted circuit. 5. Make sure all cooling measures are ready before use (e.g. heat sink, flow air, cooling fan) 8. Use a power supply (12 or 24V DC) when measuring the voltage, do not use USB power supply only.

TMC2209s stepper drivers are generally all the same. However, I was really pleased to see that these have a lot of selectable options. The Pins are double-sided on the top and bottom. That makes getting communication with boards easier to do.The larger heatsink area is nicer too. I think these will likely last longer than others I have purchased. What I really liked about these is that they LED indicators for power various functions which help when troubleshooting.

This was 1st time I need to install one a new driver. Had an old Ender that needed to be replaced. Seems to be day and night difference. Much quieter and and cooler. Nice upgrade for my printer.

These stepper drivers are so much quieter than the 4988 drivers I replaced! If you ever need to mute a 3D printer, this can definitely accomplish that. I didn't really have any other reason for changing out the steppers, although the spec sheet of Trinamic's 2209 driver is impressive. With these, you'll have far more control over the positioning of your printer. One thing to note: The jumper settings between this and the 4988 are different. Make sure you consult your documentation for both the old and new drivers (I found that the BTT 2209 manual on GitHub was similar enough to these drivers).

I had a mainboard go bad on one of my 3d printers. I picked up a Geetech Spark E3 board and am using these stepper motor drivers to quiet it down. My old board used 4498 drivers and was loud. So far this is nice and quiet and I can run the machine without worrying about background noise during meetings and so for in the same room. I may end up upgrading my other systems to these drivers.
