Works better than I expected.

While opening the door and looking outside is always the best way to tell the weather, it is nice to have an option that keeps the warm inside and the cold and wet elsewhere. With a clock, you can get a solid idea how late to work you are going to be if you ignore the alarm it has!Joking aside, this makes an awesome weather station for less than a lot I've seen elsewhere. Now, yes, you absolutely get what you pay for. While your eyes are drawn to the bright and large display, fit and finish is somewhat suspect. The buttons have a spongy feel until it makes a click. But it does click and the things do things.Good start. And then it lost power. As I set it on the shelf while using the wall wart, the screen went off. I pick it up again and it turns back on, fully reset and fresh again. So I did all the settings again and put it back on the shelf. It went off again as I took my hand away. While I am getting quite frustrated at this point, I do notice that the power wire was relaxing and sagging down a bit after being set down. So yea. It is the wee barrel jack that doesn't connect right. Setting the wire down and having everything in place and then doing the setting kept everything on to run this, but that is not good start. This is where things are weird. Yes, you can use 3 AAA battery or they say you could use a usb to power. Except that there is not a cable in the box and it is a type A port. Ususally that is the end that goes into the power source and you have a smaller end for the device like usbC, Micro or mini or the apple thing. Further, there is a little calculator logo on the port that is never mentioned in the instructions. Is this actually for data out? No idea. They do not say.The remote sensor is powered by 2 AAA battery that are not included. It is not weather resistant and needs to be placed in a sheltered place as to not get wet. All that done, it works nicely. Range is a suspect, but one out of the 3 channels may get more distance as setting 2 on mine did better than 1 or 3. Presumably, you can get other remotes and be able to check the other locations as one of the buttons cycles through each channel by default, but this isn't mentioned or offered.Once you have it on and set, it syncs eventually to a regional atomic signal. Less fuss at messing with time is always welcome. But is does other fun things too, like blink an ice warning and guesses at exterior conditions by the barometer and displays an image. Large numbers are nicely accented with unobtrusive trending logos in what would otherwise be dead space. For a weather display and clock, this layout is easy to read and gives all the relevant information you'd need at a glance. While getting it up and running may drive you to throw something, once it is on for a few hours and settles down, this makes a great weather station to be placed near your exit. It's not top end and misses some things like wind, but you get a good idea. For a less than $40 option, this is great for the category for as much as it does and the clarity of the display by default.

I have to admit that the instructions could be written better, however everything is so basic for setup it is easy to get it up and running. You will need some AAA batteries, put them in the remote sensor, and some in the main unit (assuming for backup) and plug it in. I have the outside sensor about 40 ft away from the house and the unit is receiving it. It has an atomic clock so you need to make sure it is receiving its signal. I think I had everything up and running within 15/20 minutes of opening the package. I feel this is a very nice unit for it price.

For weather at a glance, you can't go wrong with this thermometer. Set up was moderately easy. The trickiest part, IMO, was cycling through the buttons over & over just to get the date & time set up! I found a good spot for the outdoor gage by hanging it under the railing of my deck. It's safe from rain & snow, and shielded from the direct sun. It took only a few minutes to connect to the station. I've been testing accuracy by checking against my phone's weather app. It's always very close to identical, off by maybe a 1/2 to 1 degree just because the weather app gets its data from a different source of course. I think the feature I like best, however, is the display of inside temperature & humidity. Super helpful and reminds me when it's time to run the humidifier! I really wish they'd work on the instruction manual and describe the features better. I'll keep playing with it but for now, I think it's pretty awesome.

My thermostat displays the temperature, but I got tired of trying to see the small font on that so I decided to upgrade. I love how large this display is. It also shows so much information. It is great to be able to see the inside and outside temperature at just a glance. I also like that it shows the date and time as well. I definitely recommend this!

It's always nice having one of these around and it's incredibly convenient to check the outdoor temperature at a glance. This unit setup was a breeze and required no fiddling around to ensure the remote thermometer connected. The display has large, extremely readable numbers that are lit well. I was also impressed with the humidity reading. In the past I've had similar units that were incorrect on humidity for whatever reason, but this unit matched my weather app's humidity number exactly

This weather station seems to work well. I compared the temperature to another thermometer and it was within 2 degrees of each other. It seems to be accurate compared to other weather apps. The instructions are not very good but I was able to stumble through the setup. The display is very bright and colorful. Overall I am happy with this product.

I inherited a similar weather station from my mom, but hers is basic, plain and boring. This lively and colorful display is easy to read and provides all the info you need to start and plan your day. Once you do the basic setup after installing your own batteries, it's self sufficient. The temperature seems to be accurate both inside and outside. It's basically a slab of cheap plastic so you'll want to place it where it won't get bumped, but looks clean and modern. A decent daily essential for the cost.
