Note: Mount the sensor on a North-facing wall or a well-shaded location. Direct sunlight will make the temperature read high. Recommended: 6 to 18 inches below eaves or placed under deck rail is preferred. We recommend mounting outdoor sensor vertically to drain any moisture. The maximum wireless transmission range to the weather station is over 330 feet (100 meters) in open air, not including walls or floors.

I bought a weather station used , it was missing the out door sensor. Bought this sensor , and it works great. Easy to use. Great quality. Great accuracy.

My original unit had a hard time connecting and this new one connected immediately. It’s working again like new.

This is an exact replacement by model number. It works at least as well as the one it replaces. In my case, it worked better— the original made the weather prediction false; it always displayed rain. The new one gives me a usually true prediction.

We are seeing about 8-10 years of reliable service from these remotes, located in different outdoor places. All are out of direct sunlight, and see no direct rain or snow exposure. Meanwhile we are used to the indoor units, and it seems a waste to toss those when it's just an outdoor sensor unit giving trouble. These replacement sensors restore the remote readings functionality for a fraction of the cost on a whole new setup or sensor plus indoor display unit.Net, these are a good value for us.

Bought as a replacement for an existing unit and it's been working perfectly. Couldn't ask for more.

Thus far, this replacement is working perfectly to replace the older one. The temperature readings are accurate and it was easy to hang.

Opened the battery compartment, placed new battery's in and restarted La Crosses weather displays, and much to my suprise the other station picked up the transmitter and started to receive the outdoor weather.

I have had my LaCrosse “weather station†for about 4 years and it has worked perfectly. I move the sensor every spring and autumn to take more accurate temps and to protect the sensor. I accidentally dropped the sensor onto concrete this spring and it stopped working. Was a little surprised because it is encased in such sturdy plastic. But hey, electronics, you know. There were no buttons or instructions on how to get the station to recognize the new sensor. I ended up removing the back-up batteries and unplugging the station. Then put batteries in the sensor and finally replacing the batteries in the station and plugging it back in to power. Within about a minute the sensor was detected. Then it was just a matter of figuring out how to reset the time, date etc.I debated replacing the whole station, rather than just the sensor, but even with all the LaCrosse weather station choices, the one I have is still my favorite. I am glad that replacing the sensor was an option.

We've had this brand of home weather monitor for a few years and found it to be reliable and sturdy. Unfortunately our last sensor stopped working after a few years but the indoor monitor screen was fine. This was a replacement for our BV3 model but works perfectly, even though its a BV4 sensor. Very happy with this purchase.

LaCrosse weather station stopped showing outside temperature. All trouble shooting failed. But replacing the outside sensor did the trick.
