I bought this item because I prefer to wake up to music rather than rude alarms or the blathering of the morning zoo crew with weather and traffic together. Unfortunately, the CD player would not work from the first try. It spins and spins and spins. And gives up. [Please see update below.]According to the manual (written by people who no have English good much), there was supposed to have been a piece of plastic that needed to be removed from over the CD player's eye; I never found one. Perhaps this was a returned unit?Otherwise, I like that there are three brightness settings, four if you count turning the display completely off. The dimmest setting is plenty bright enough for bedroom use; the brightest can be used to signal ships at sea.The phone recharger works well, and the radio is okay. I don't expect great sound quality from a bedside clock, so I wasn't disappointed. If you want great sound quality, look elsewhere; this unit is perfectly adequate. There is a USB port, which can play .mp3 files if you have any files that old. It does not play files in more recent formats.[UPDATE:] The folks at Gelielim contacted me after reading this review, and after some conversation between us offered to send me a replacement unit. It arrived sooner than expected, and this one DID have the protective CD cover that was missing from the first one. This time, the CD player worked just fine, including as the alarm function this morning. We tested the CD in the first unit just to confirm that it still wouldn't play CDs; yes, the problem was with the first player, not the CD.We also found that when we stopped the CD in the new player to try it in the first player, then put it back in the replacement and hit play, the CD resumed play at the point where it had stopped. Interesting. One suggestion I would make to them is to include in the operator's manual how to turn the audio device off after use. Each of the buttons performs more than one function, depending what audio device or program is active, and whether you press the button quickly or hold it down. The on/off button's other function is to switch from one audio input to the next.

In today's technology driven world, I was having a hard time trying to find a clock radio that had a remote. This device is actually replacing my very old Aiwa, yes I said Aiwa. Overall I like it and it has all the features that my old radio used to have. I'm sure I will never use the CD player, usb headphone jack or Aux port so I will not be able to speak about those functions in this review (sorry). The one drawback with this clock radio, it's somewhat difficult to get setup the way you want. The user manual is pretty bare bones when it comes to functions and most of the buttons serve different functions so it can be frustrating. The main reasons I got this was for the radio sleep feature (which has a max of 90 minutes), the remote and the large clock numbers. The antenna gets pretty decent reception. I'm sure it depends where you have it in your dwelling on what stations you're going to pick up but for me, works fine. Sound quality is decent, needs a little more bass but I'm fine with what it can do (it does have a few EQ settings). Build quality is nothing special, it feels cheap (so does the remote) but it has a small footprint which is what I was looking for. If your alarm is "wake to radio" (like me), the "wake mode" lasts for about 30-40mins, then the radio automatically turns off (great feature if you forgot to turn it off and you left for work!).A few small features I wish it had:A. Wish the buttons would light up, not a big deal but it would be nice.B. If you're trying to tune the radio manually (custom preset radio stations), changing the stations is very slow, even if you press the button really fast, that doesn't make getting to the next station any faster and if you hold down the button, that doesn't move through the stations any faster. So if you have a lot of stations you want to set, it can take some time.C. Wish the build quality was a bit better. My biggest fear is the buttons on the remote cracking (time will tell)D. Longer antennaOverall I like it, it's basic and does what I need it to do.

I like this product. I was concerned when I first received it because it appeared to have a previous owner. But once I plugged it in and set the clock, it worked perfectly. I don't use alarms regularly but the clock is precious: nice and bright with nice sized numbers. The radio, cd, and charger all work perfectly fine and I am happy I decided to purchase this item.

Despite the features, which inspired the purchase of this CD alarm clock, it was returned because of the difficulty of operating this device. It was difficult to just put a CD in and play (had to look at the instructions to figure out how), and when an alarm was set, and then during the day a cd was played on it, it appeared to cancel the alarm.Sound quality for classical music was fine.

This clock has features galore, which are great. You can lay your iPhone on top of the clock and recharge your phone. The clock has large numbers that are easy to read, with adjustable brightness levels. There is an AM/FM radio and a CD player with fine sound quality. There are dual alarms. What more does one need in a clock? A CLOCK THAT KEEPS ACCURATE TIME! This clock was constantly losing time. Don't waste your money on this timepiece of crap!

This radio combo does display the time constantly while playing radio, cd, etc. It has a separate area for radio station, track number etc. Even with the antenna raised, it could not tune into nearby stations that other radios have no problem with. Sound not very good either

The lowest dim setting is still much too bright. Functions are too complicated. Still can't figure out how to shut the alarm off for weekends or turn the radio off.
