About Turbocharger
A turbocharger is a turbine-driven forced induction machine that boosts the efficiency and power output of an internal combustion engine by bringing additional air into the combustion chamber.
When a turbocharger brings more air into the chamber, it gets mixed with more fuel, yielding more power as a result. It smuggles air by compressing it using the energy of the exhaust gasses coming out of the engine.

Only lasted about 1k miles. I finally just went with a Motorcraft one (for about $1200). Didn't want to spend that much, but I need need this to be reliable. These cheap rebuilds on here are just not worth the cost in the long run (or in my case short run).

If your car is blowing huge clouds of white smoke out the exhaust, your turbo bearings are gone and its pumping huge amounts of oil directly into the exhaust (not blue smoke - white because it's not actually burning) . Take it from me, I bought a 2011 Lincoln MKT from a relative that apparantly ran the car like this for a while... to the point the oil wasn't showing on the dipstick anymore. When I pulled the front turbo there was oil dripping everywhere - even from the bottom of the muffler. Time will tell if the new replacement turbo is as durable as the old one (went at 150,000 kms) but I'm thinking I will be golden if I can get another 150k km out of this one before major mechanical problems strike. Overall - I'm very pleased with the new turbo and the car (3.5 ecoboost) is performing the way it should again. NO MORE SMOKE - Yay
