I have an '05 6.0, and was having issues with no-start, uneven idle, surging idle, and unresponsive acceleration, all when warm or hot. This job was pretty easy; watch some youtube videos by Diesel Tech Ron to see how and what tools you will need. On mine I did have to remove the oil rails under the valve covers also because the standpipe (the longer parts you see in the pic) came out as two pieces. For this you will probably need a very shallow torx socket (Blue point: BLPTS1430). I also had to jack up the engine a little to get clearance over the AC box to slide the new standpipe in. Mine were different than in the videos as mine were 1/2 square drive heads, not 10mm. I also chose to do the glow plugs AND glow plug harnesses while I was in there (I had one bad glow plug on each side). This is a great time to do glow plugs, way easier to get hands in there with the valve covers off, it only adds about $90 per side.My old dummy plugs and standpipes didn't show any signs of bad orings, so I was afraid I hadn't found the problem. However, it worked perfectly. Starts are back to normal, idle is perfect, and fuel mileage has gone back up to where it was before (up 0.8 MPG so far). Be aware that you can expect a long crank time for the first few starts until you have driven the truck a way (air needs to be purged from High Pressure Oil system). Others have had issues with off brands, and some people just do the dummy plugs and not the standpipes. I would recommend doing both dummy plugs and standpipes while you have it open and buy these genuine Motorcraft parts. Be very clean and keep as much dirt out of the engine as possible. Be gentle with the fasteners, do NOT over torque. Reassemble by hand ONLY, not impact.

Someone left a poor review that the middle o-rings in the standpipes burst. This is likely due to having to separate the 2 pieces in order to install and he ended up pinching the o ring. If you want to avoid this risk, loosen your motor mounts (and radiator mount), put a block of wood on a floor jack and lift the engine at the flat spot where transmission connects on the passenger side. Lift about 1-2" and put a board between the mount and frame. Do the same to the driver side if needed. You will be able to remove the one piece standpipe with ease and install these new two piece ones without taking them apart and risking pinching the middle o ring. Remember to oil up the o rings generously!

After 16 years of service, I had to replace my 6.0s injectors. Replaced standpipes, and dummy plugs as well. Be cautious about what parts you use. Use only Ford MotorCraft standpipes and dummy plugs. These parts went in perfectly. Product was as described and original MotorCraft part.

Ahh another Chinese knock off I decided to bless myself with and all the ass pains that come with it. O ring failure on first start up...and yes I know how to install them correctly. The pipes themselves aren't the issue here it's the o-rings. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money and get the upgraded stand pipes from deisel site for 200$. I mean hell you drive a 6.0 you should know by now these pigs run on crisp clean Benjamin's 🤣

Easy to install for an experienced mechanic. There is a lot of parts that must be removed in order to get to these engine oil or fuel stand pipes and dummy plugs. And a variety of different types of tools and knowledge of tork specs in order to get this job done right and lots of patience.

Wish I'd known what shape these where in when I pulled the injectors. Had to go back in and re-install a week later. The original units seals where still in tact but where deforming/shrunk. Engine cranking would get longer as the truck/oil got hotter. Truck has 300K kms/180K miles.Drivers side is easy to replace and you do not need to remove the oil rail to get them in but on the passenger side you have to remove the oil rail, separate the unit into two pieces and put the bottom piece in first, then re-install the oil rail then put in the top half. Both dummy plugs require no disassembly.Whole job took about 4 hours to do both sides. Made a very noticeable improvement in cutting down engine cranking.Parts arrived in two days after order placed!

Lasted 1122 km then had a cold no start. I don't think these are ford parts. Go to the dealer. Wasted my time and money.
