I've owned Gill gloves previously and I liked them, but they eventually wore out. This new pro version seems to have reinforcements in all the right areas. The index/thumb finger tips exposed is nice for phone use or messing with small knots.

These seem like nice quality gloves but the are too small. I ordered the large size, based on their sizing description, and they were much too tight.

I bought these to sail an ILCA 7, but I believe they would be great to be used on nigh boats, too. I got one size bigger, as the reviews mentioned they fit a little tighter. I’d say one size up fits me perfect. They are rugged but comfortable - I read one review someone “scratched†their hands while wearing them..I don’t see how that would be possible. Good dexterity, and having the possibility of tying knots or working with index and thumb is definitely a needed bonus. Although I only used them for a couple of weeks, they seem pretty durable, based on how they now appear, compared with other gloves I used in the past. I might come back to review this, in case anything changes.

Especially do not buy these if you own a pair of the older ones. You will be SORELY disappointed.I bought these to replace my much worn (15+ years racing as trimmer and hot box, probably 200+ days including 9 Bayview-Mackinac and several other longer distance races) pro gloves. I was expecting the same glove, these new ones aren't even in the same league as the old design.Everything about these is cheaper. The material, virtually NO padding, even the wrist closure is junk compared to the older version. They just do not come across as having anywhere near the quality or durability of the older versionI am most likely be returning these.

These gloves are well made and I really like the open finger holes. Super happy with my purchase

Compared to the previous year's model these gloves were more tight to wear. However, after a few races, they fit better and are comfortable.

I agree with Archie's review. I have had the Deckhand gloves in the past and they were GREAT! I am an instructor for our Technical Rescue Group at my fire department and I put those Deckhand gloves through the ringer and they performed very well. They developed some holes just due to use and wear so I bought these thinking they would last a little longer. The fit was tighter than the Deckhand. I thought that maybe they needed to be "broken in". But after a week of use they are still really stiff, tight, and uncomfortable. The grip is great, but the leather just feels like plastic and didn't soften up. Overall Gill gloves are great, this glove just didn't end up meeting my expectations. I'll be buying another pair of Deckhand gloves.

Buenos guantes, son los segundos que tengo, son caros y obviamente también se gastan, pero estos me aguantan una temporadada de navegación de 6 meses.
