Got this today and it's super cute. Great instructions so far. The only BUT is that this looks like fingering/sock weight yarn and uses a 2.5mm/C hook. NOT a great option for beginners or if you have hand/eye issues. Will add edits as the project gets going a little better

This was a gift and they loved it! The instructions are super clear and the materials are nice. It’s easy to follow and the quality is nice. The designs are super cute even for not around Halloween!

This is such a fun crochet highland cow kit! My 10 year old was able to make them, so it's beginner friendly! Although she learned to crochet a couple years ago, and has been crocheting like crazy since then, so maybe she doesn’t fall in the category of a beginner either. The directions were easy to follow though! I really liked that the set included 2 different designs of cow, so you can pick the style you like best and make 2 the same, or opt to make them differently. They came out absolutely adorable, and the felted hair on top was a great addition. It's really secure on there too! It even included pipe cleaners to make a little background for the cows, which is a unique/fun idea and inclusion to the set. The yarn is easy to work with and see the stitches of, but I find it harder on my hands since it doesn't glide easily. It was a really fun kit to complete, and such a trendy design.

Instructions were fine, minus the website letting its security certificate expire. But the quality of the yarn is, no joke, THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN. Yarn frayed and unspun just unravelling from spool. TERRIBLE! I ended up just buying better yarn and following their pattern. But seriously, horrible quality.

Too much of the kit depends on the pipe cleaners. Way more pipe cleaners than expected.Got the Platypus kit and the hat, basket, and fish are all made from pipe cleaners. The hat and basket could easily be crochet pieces instead.Instructional manual is ok, but you HAVE to use the videos for the pipecleaner accessories. A bit confusing, plus requires a lighter, and scissors to make the accessories. So maybe not great for kids.Fishing pole requires scissors to trim the fluff off the pipe cleaner.Material of the yarn is more modern and almost like athletic or jersey material which is nice. Less scratchy.
