I got this set to turn a regular office chair into a counter height chair. The biggest problem was getting the old one out but with a few taps of a hammer and the a pair of channel-lock pliers to twist out the top and I was able to take it out to put this new one in. Now the obviously easiest way would be to realize that you want a taller chair before you assemble it and have these on hand too.They work as intended with the chair I already had, and am very pleased so far.

I just got me a new office chair and it sat a little lower at the highest setting than I liked. I got this replacement cylinder hoping it'd fit and increase the height. It was easy to install and it fit perfectly. Now my chair sits up higher making it easier for me to get out of with my bad knees. I'm so glad I ordered it and actually it's a set of 2 cylinders so I have an extra one. So far it is working great. I'm very pleased with the quality and performance of this product.
