1. The original is 0-0-0-0, align the dails exactly to 0-0-0-0 with the straight line and press down the switch to open.
2. Move the RESET button from position A to position B.
3. Set your own combination.
4. Move the RESET button from position B back to position A, scramble the dials and lock back.

Because they are plastic, I would not put them outside, I think they could be broken with a bat or something pretty easily, but then if someone has a bat they could just break in through the window. I used these for one of my rentals. They are located inside with back up keys for my tenants. They function very well.

I got for my barn for when other people come and need to get inside I hid a key.The instructions were super simple and easy to figure out how to set the lock to what I wanted. It also came with the screws to hang it.

PROS--easy to install, particularly if you are screwing it to wood and don't need to deal with the included drywall anchors--easy to program your desired 4-digit combination--good amount of space inside, can fit several keys on a ring--number wheels are easy to access and turn/control (some other models tuck them deeper inside or the wheels are stiff and it makes entering the combination very difficult, especially with longer fingernails. This model does not have any of those problems.)--latch trigger is an easy to turn knob instead of a heavy spring lever on other modelsCONS--made of plastic, not metal, so only really provides a limited level of security (mine is in a garage where there is also a security code to get in the door, so I can sacrifice some key box security in that situation). I would not recommend leaving this out in the elements or in a very publicly accessible location.--no hook inside to hang your keys on (it seems like there is one, but the keys slide right off)--no cover over the number wheels to protect from weather--designed for permanent mounting only, and does need to be screwed to a wall or surface if you want it secure. No U-bolt to attach to doorknobs or railings for temporary mounting.I would describe this as moderately secure. The plastic material does have some give and could have some vulnerability, particularly if it is mounted out of sight and a potential break-in would have time to cut through the plastic walls. If someone really wanted to get in and had the time/access to it, I'm sure they could. It works great indoors or in a covered/sheltered exterior area where it can be mounted permanently, especially if utilized in combination with other layers of security.

I like how inexpensive it is, but as for security - a rock could easily break this open. It's just plastic, where as the more expensive ones are cast metal. But, If they have a rock, they could just break your window, too. I still like it because I just needed to store a key in a convenient place and am confident nobody will be trying to break in. But if someone wanted to get this key, it wouldn't take much.

I bought 2 double packs, so 4 of these. All four showed the same behavior so it's not a "one off".The case itself is plastic. It can flex simply by pushing on it. I suspect it would be easy to break into.The dials, themselves, are very hard to turn. Especially the rightmost one. I originally thought it was jammed until I found all 4 were the same. I needed to use a thumbnail in the grooves to even get them to move. I very much doubt anyone with long nails would be able to operate this.There is no spring in the door to help it open (unlike more expensive units). You have to grip the knob and try and pull it; on 1 of the 4 I just couldn't get enough grip, but banging it on the table loosened the door. Another one stuck later in testing. If these are wall mounted it may be very hard to pull the door open.The lock mechanism itself is interesting; on a traditional keybox lock (eg from Master) you set the combination and this allows a spring-loaded catch to be pulled back; the door spring then pushes it open. This is a much much simpler rotating lock; the combination determines if you can rotate the knob or not. This might make it harder to shim the lock from the top... which is about the only good thing I have to say.This lock is a toy. I would not use it for anything you care for but it might be fun for kids to play with!

Bought this for my college apartment so my roommates and I wouldn't get locked out and it has saved us many times! Really good quality so it feels like it keeps the key very safe. Always good to have a backup key somewhere outside for those times you will inevitably lock yourself out. Would buy this again!

Como o elevador social vive quebrando e como nos não carregamos a chave da porta de serviços, esse dispositivo para guardar a chave extra da porta de serviços para casos de emergência é ideal.Esse dispositivo, em particular, é de ótimo material, fácil instalação e boa aparência. Pensei em até comprar uma quantidade e revender para os meus vizinhos que também sofrem com as frequentes panes do elevador social.
