Very satisfied with this Glide Gear TMP 100. It is an actual Teleprompter at a reasonable price. No plastic. I use it to record various pieces to camera and even online conferencing. The ability to turn out 1-2 minute perfect takes on the first try save lots of time and effort. If your conferencing software allows you to log into your own sessions on a separate device (like the phone or tablet you use for the teleprompter software,) you can keep your eyes directly on guests and panelists instead of always looking down at your computer. It comes with a padded, zippered case that is better than expected. A strap with shoulder pad is included. Using with a DSLR and 24-70 f2.8 lens. The great design and sturdy build mean this product will do the job for years.Setup is easier if you follow the included step-by-step directions. The included rear clamp for the prompting device was not pre-installed in my package. The hole for the set screw on that clamp is small and it's easier to get that attached as a first step. Caution: the quality reflector glass costs $50 to replace.[Thouths: You will be happier with a strong tripod and 3-way pan and tilt (video) head rather than a ball head. (A good ball head will work, of course.) Add 6 lbs. to your camera + lens + tablet weight to check specifications before you buy an inexpensive tripod. IMHO, make sure it's rated for twice your load.]

I have some experience with a variety of other teleprompters. This one is made extremely well and certainly has design elements that are superior to the other brands. If you're looking for a portable teleprompter, this is the one for you.Pros:1. Glass is fantastic material. Truly better glass than most out there and great reflectivity.2. The design overall is stylish and flattering. The cloth cover/shield is rigid and aesthetic, unlike other cheap teleprompters.Cons:*I'm rather critical in all of my reviews, so these are less cons than user experience feedback1. The extra screws on the left and right of the aluminum are designed to attach accessories such as mics and lights. Keep in mind that they are very easily loosened because it is a single 1/4" knob that screws into your ball head joint or whatever you're using to attach the other devices. What this means is that every time I tried to adjust the microphone, the screw would slip and I would need to retighten. I tried holding up my small 5.5" feelworld monitor on the side: it worked with a few diy solutions, but whenever i tried putting the npf battery in, the screw would easily come undone and then it was difficult to install.2. The design is best suited for an iPad; anything thicker than an iPad would work, but need other reinforcements to get it tight. I use a Feelworld 7 inch monitor with this. It works great, but the edges of the field monitor is too thick to be held by the teleprompter's clamps. As a compromise, I put a piece of foam on one edge to add some extra resistance so the clamps could clamp the edge tightly. When you have HDMI cords and power adapters connected to the monitor, you definitely don't want it to fall so this was my workaround.3. Cost. I still feel that for a piece of aluminum... some cloth and velcro, and a two-way mirror... I'm not sure why teleprompters even at the budget range are as expensive as they are. Even so, to me, it's well worth the extra $50 for this one when comparing it to other budget teleprompters. And certainly, why even spend money on the $1,000 teleprompters when this works just as well?Conclusion: Don't even look at the other budget teleprompters. This has all the design specifications and features and is extremely quality.

Nice and at good price. It is made for Horizonal filming - BUT you can modify it to fit an IPHONE standing VERTICALLY if you have a small screwdriver. Solid versatile construction.

I bought this Glide Gear as I was looking for a better way to have scripts to read when recording videos. I used to write them out in Word and save as a PDF and have it auto-scroll. But this left large gaps of time while I waited for it to scroll to the next page when I reached the bottom of one. I have now used the Glide Gear for a few months (I batch my recordings to do once a month), and I like the ease of use. I e-mail myself the script and open it on my iPad, then copy it into the teleprompter software I use. I place the iPad on the holder which makes it easy to read the text. The only thing I don't like is that it is a bit hard for me to get my cell phone on the holder and in place (could be user error). If I have the holder further back on the track where I can easily attach the phone, when I move it up to be covered by the hood, it's hard to get my hand in to tighten the screw.to keep it from moving So I leave that in place and then put my phone in when the slide it all the way to the front of the hood. I may buy a better camera soon and then this may not be as much of an issue.

I purchased the Teleprompter TMP100 to allow me to do videos and look directly into the camera while narrating my presentation. I am working in High Tech and I have been looking for an easy to install teleprompter for quite some time. The Tmp100 fulfills all my requirements. I do not need any tools to put it together, it mounts on any standard tripod, and works with DSLR cameras as well as my Sony camcorder. You have to play with the hood fabric a bit to have it tucked away such that it does not protrude into the picture though. The semi-mirror glass works like a charm and I can use any teleprompter app on my iPhone 8+ as well as on my iPad mini. This is a professionally built product, all parts are metal (no cheap plastic parts!), and everything fits together nicely. The Tmp100 comes with plenty of mounting holes for spot lights and a neat carrying bag, with protection foam for the glass. I have been using the Tmp100 for a couple of months now and have not seen any wear. I can only highly recommend the product.

Ho comprato un teleprompter economico. Un disastro! Questo è tutta un'altra cosa. Davvero ben fatto. Complimenti ha chi ha prodotto questo oggetto. Unico difetto che ci trovo è che il carrello su cui appoggiare l'ipad poteva essere leggermente più lungo. 1-2 cm in più ci avrebbero fatto accomodare anche un monitor 11'' cinesino economico ma per il teleprompter è fenomenale. Invece per essere sicuro e ben ancorato ci devo mettere un'iPad da 1000 euro.

While I am happy with my purchase and I think that the build quality is pretty decent, this teleprompter is a bit larger than I expected, though I’ve never owned one before so I have no frame of reference. It is hard to see in the pictures but this teleprompter is more suitable for iPads than phones. Check out the pix, the phone/pad holder is adjusted for the size of my phone, so you can see that you can easily use larger devices to read your texts from. The mirror is big, which is good if you are going to read your texts from a few meters distance or for working with clients. It is not a teleprompter you’d take with you to work with in a field, more like in a studio. But the quality is good, mirror reflectivity is great and from all the hundreds reviews I’ve watched, this teleprompter does not create vignetting and you can use it with wide angle lenses (I am yet to try that out myself). But that was reason why I chose it, and because you don’t need to mount it on the lens and put unnecessary pressure on the lens mount. Also, I like that you can slide the camera in and out without having to disassemble the whole set up every single time (like the ones that hang on the lens), hence the size I guess. For my needs it’s perfect, I am going to keep it.👌 I also liked that it comes with a bag.If I had to find one single thing that I don’t like it would be the metal knob that holds the camera. I saw a review where one guy thought it was uncomfortable, but I actually don’t mind that and think it’s ok. I am more concerned about the metal knob grinding against the metal plate and slowly grinding it away like it happened with one of my camera mounting plates (it’s uneven and unstable now), although I’ve used it for a few years, but check out the scratches on the teleprompter plate from after 2 uses.
