I had the “upgraded†thermostat from GM for my Tahoe’s 6L80, and I didn’t want to risk it getting stuck. Installed this and saw a significant difference in temperature. Ended up driving 1,200 miles in my Tahoe at around 80-85 mph. The entire trip I saw a temperature of about 185. Once I got into cities with traffic it would get up to 195°-205° but never once did it go over 205°. I highly recommend this if you have a GM 6L80. Don’t risk your transmission over a useless design. Will be installing another into my Chevy Caprice soon.

It takes 10 minutes to install. It helps reduce the temps of your GM transmission by keeping the transmission fluid flowing through the cooler. I noticed a 20-degree difference in the same 10-mile loop pulling a trailer after I installed it.

I tried this but it didn’t fit into the housing. It was so tight that I broke it off inside the housing trying to get it back out. Now I have to buy a complete assembly
