This extension head allows the AD200 body and battery to be positioned away from the flash head which is really useful when you want to use a boom arm , as a hair light for example. The reduced weight at the end of the boom makes it easier to support and move and safer too. The AD200 body can also be positioned as a counterbalance or to help make the lightstand more stable. Win win. Another way I use the extension head is to mount the flash head on a pole or monopod that can be easily held and pointed at the subject. Recommended.

This works great. I tried using my Godox AD200 on a bracket but it was awfully heavy. Thanks to this, though, I am now able to use my favorite flash with the camera bracket while the heavy battery is resting on my belt. I suggest you get the Godox CB57 Cross-Body Mini Bag for Godox AD200 for that (unless you don't mind having the battery in your pocket instead).

This is the second EC200 Extension Flash Head I have ordered. Yes, it's one more thing to keep track of and to set up. However, taking the weight off the top of the lightstand when you're a crew of one does make the rest of the set up less of a hassle. Less weight up top + less weight counterweight needed at the bottom of the lightstand. Hand holding the flash head with a handle grip is easier as well.

AD200 is hands down the most versatile strobe on the market. EC200 basically completes it.By using EC200 on AD200, you have so much freedom of installing light where ever you want, and also prevent the impact damage on the body(AD200).Cable is thick and strong, but pretty flexible, superb built quality.

nice, that the strobe has a tilt feature to dial in angle of light into umbrella/softbox. would definitely recommend. great value for the money
