I asked for a GOgroove phonostage (the non-pro version) for Christmas with the goal of hooking Dad's old YP-211 up to a Google Home Max (yes, I know ADC defeats the purpose of vinyl, don't @ me). I got everything hooked up earlier this week and it sounded fine, if a bit too quiet compared to the Max's "internal" digital audio sources. The AT cartridge in this turntable has always been on the quiet side, but switching the Max from the aux input to e.g. Spotify would really blow your socks off. And while I admittedly don't have the best ear, I thought the bass was a bit lacking.I said to myself, "This is good, but it would be great if it had a gain knob and a power button." Lo and behold, there's a brand new PRO version with exactly those features—plus a few others! It got delivered a couple days early so I get to play with it over the weekend. Fortunately, my wife and daughter are at a baby shower, so I can listen to my Tony Bennett records as loud as I want.Suffice it to say, it's a worthwhile upgrade. The +10dB makes a huge difference—roughly doubling the volume as one would expect. The power button is smartly located on the top of the unit, making it super easy to toggle even though I've hidden the phonostage behind the Max. And I even think it sounds better, although I'm interested to see what audiophiles make of the built-in EQ cf. the non-pro version.I'm still playing with the rumble filter although I think I prefer the airy-ness of the flat curve. I will probably never use the DIN I/O or the built-in headphone amp, but it's nice to know they're there. All in all, great job GOgroove!

I went for the 3-band equalizer version and really like it. It also has a headphone jack that allows me to adjust the settings of the pre-amp output before the main amp. Leaving the equalizer settings in the middle gives the RIAA equalization, but I add a little bass to mine. I also like that gain is adjustable and that there is a clipping indicator. There is no hum or rumble for my setup. The build quality feels very good too. In all it is a well thought out device and good value for the money.

this isn't going to change the actual quality of your turntable setup, but if you're like me with a bare bones receiver/amplifier it gives you better control over your overall sound and works well. being able to control the input gain is a nice touch, and having MIDS control really helps adjust the sound from record to record. ALSO just having a direct headphone output (and volume control) is super handy.at $99 it's a little more expensive than i'd like, since you can get a cheap phono preamp for about $20, but if you dont have a robust stereo receiver or amplifier with bells and whistles and you already need a phono preamp, this is a fun and effective option.

If you are hunting for a high quality no-frills and sturdily built unit to convert your turntable to a usable RCA output or headphone jack signal, stop hunting. Buy this unit. It’s very well made, zero noise issues, well designed, beefy guts (I couldn’t help but open it up). This is ready to convert your turntable’s RCA phono output to something line-level your receiver, wireless transmitter, or headphone amp can use.I cannot speak to whether this is suitable for high-end installations. I’m running from my turntable into this preamp, then Bluetooth transmitting out to wireless speakers and it sounds fabulous to me! Good full range, crisp highs, solid bass. Nothing middy here. The only possible complaint I could see anyone making is - without modding - there is no way to adjust the output levels up or down. But i don’t think that’s really a reasonable feature to expect on a sub-$50 piece of equipment. Besides, most folks in their right mind would either be running this into a headphone amp or an external receiver/amp since the vast majority of receivers on the market the last 15yrs or so don’t have a photo ore-amp built in.I can’t recommend this product enough!

The FIIO k11 r2r lacks any control on bass midrange etc. This fixes that pretty well.Oh yeah, also you'll need to adjust it a lot to get it right. So just be patient

Unit is ok. Power LED doesn’t light up. Also, can’t tell the difference in sound when pressing the filter button. Doesn’t cut off bass as noted. EQ’s work nicely though, as well as input gain and monitor volume.

I was using a different name brand preamp but the input level it produced was much lower than when using TV or streaming devices. I thought that a preamp with adjustable settings might solve the problem. I found the GOgroove preamp on Amazon and it seemed to have everything needed to get the job done. Ordered and arrived the next day. The unit is quite heavy for its size. Solidly built and easy to hook up. It even looks good enough to have out on display. It works beautifully. No hum or background noise of any kind and now my phono input is as hot as needed and more.

Very disappointed: only sound enhanced when gain is adjusted, is background noise. No difference when low pass filter used, and when playing the record there was a very poor tone changed. Music sounded much better without the preamp. I tried multiple ground options to no avail. Retuning this product.

This little unit is outright fabulous! If you want a phono player to run thru your surround sound system this is a must have! The only drawback is it doesn’t have a power on/off switch. That would make it perfect!!ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

Now I can finally listen to my records on my headphones. At first, I plugged my headphone directly into the amp and it doesn't work, then I figured that I need a headphone amp.... plugged my headphone amp too, it works now. overall pretty nice for the price.

I restored an old record changer, and the low end output was terrible, probably because it's 50 or so years old. This preamp makes it sound like new. The equalizer is a great feature too, everything sounds warm and beefy. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes older hi-fi equipment.

I find a built-in phono amp just not sufficient, but the GoGroove pre amp pro with EQ solved that problem. Gave me the EQ precision I needed to listen to vinyl just how I (or anyone) wants to listen. Worth the money and it looks right sharp as an accessory. Hey also, their customer service is A1 as well!"I tells it as I sees it"Sincerley,CA MacKinnonMontreal, Canada
