These work great in breadboards and protoboard. I'm sure they'd also work fine on a standard PCB as well, but I haven't had the need to do so yet. They securely hold appropriately sized ICs, without requiring excessive force to install (does require straight 90 degree bent pins, however!) and are 3A rated. Claims gold plating and nothing has tarnished, even after soldering, so I'm included to believe it. No complaints from me.

These sockets are the better quality machined ones as compared to the simpler single or double wipe ones.They hold chips well, but you may have issues with chips that have weak legs whereas a single or double wipe is a little more forgiving.If I need IC holders again, I wouldn't have a problem purchasing more of these.
