I don't generally write reviews, but was motivated after purchasing this guitar. Although a "newbie" when it comes to resonator guitars, I have been playing old time, bluegrass, etc. since the 1970's and play a beautiful custom made 5 string banjo and an old Martin dreadnaught. As a registered piano technician and restorer of concert quality grand pianos for over 40 years, I feel I am pretty in tune (bad joke) with craftsmanship, ease of play, tone, etc. This guitar exceeded my expectations (for the price) in all of these categories. I am not crazy about Chinese made instruments, but in fairness, I have to say the fit and finish of the instrument is very good. The American made Beard cone and spider and set up makes a huge difference. I say this based on the fact that I recently purchased two resonator guitars fro different manufactures from Amazon. I was not happy with either and sent them back.

Excellent all around and stunning to see. I bought mine on eBay two years ago, and I don't think the seller had ever played it. The tone is remarkable. This is the prettiest guitar I have ever played, much less owned. The action is 1/2" high, and so easy to play with tone bars. My only complaint would be: no pickup. I use the Schaller Oyster.
