These rasps are unbelievable for the money. Best tool value I’ve ever seen. They work great. Solid construction.

Work really well, leave a decent finish. My only recommendation is they could make different shapes for the set. Or at least make one or more a half round instead of the quarter round or whatever. Over all they operate great and a great deal so in constitutes 5 stars from me.

I recently used these to shape a handle. I used a few of them to accomplish the task. The size I used depended on the radius I wanted and the space I had. They worked very well. They are comfortable to use. These are a great value.

THESE ARE THE BEST, EASY TO HOLD, USE ... THEY TAKE OFF A LOT OF MATERIAL WITHOUT LEAVING DEEP SCRATCHES... GO OVER WITH 80, 120 SAND PAPER AND READY FOR PAINT.

OK, I've done this woodworking stuff for nearly 50 years now (maybe longer if I count my time in wood shop class!).Anyhow, I'm not a professional furniture maker (I'm 68 and I try not to work at anything other than what I enjoy). I am building a desk for my 20 year old daughter, and the desk has quite a few curves in its design, some tight and some wider. Curves of this type are not easily sanded and not easily deal with a spokeshave. So, I cut them close with my bandsaw, and then it was on to rasps, and that's where these rasps came in. I have about a dozen other rasps, including brands such as Nicholson and Auriou (you woodworkers would know them), plus several wood files. Because the tightness of some of the curves was fairly tight, I looked on Amazon for smaller rasps that would work. This 4 piece set does that in spades, going from small, tight curves to much larger (radius of 2 inches!). The finish was not bad at all and in fact it was quite easy to get a surface just about ready for the oil finish, after some scraping (a card scraper and a 1/8" thick scraper). Time to fair out the curves? Maybe about the same amount of time it would take someone with sandpaper to come up with a half-azz job, unacceptable for even a third hand store. Now these rasps (set of four) do not give the same finish as my Auriou, but then again, this set of four only cost me about $20.00, while that Auriou cost me nearly $100.00 for it alone!!!!

These rasps remove wood quickly. They are great in rounding over concave and convex curves. The sizes are just right for the curves on guitar bodies. Very light and easy to use. Wear gloves when working with them. Finish up with light strokes in random direction and it is ready to be sanded up the grades beginning with 120.The second picture shows what I would consider an essential mod that needs to be done before you use these rasps. The sharp ends (one is shown ground off in the picture) of the rasp by the handle will slice your hand if you slip, or the rasp digs in and stops and your hand keeps going. File or grind that sharp end off.

These are really nice rasps. The teeth don't look so impressive, but they are sharp, and they really tear through my soapstone. Several friends tried it on limestone too, and they all liked it. The rounded side is a bit less round than I'm used to. I'd love it even more if the side edges of the rasps could cut. Overall a great set, definitely worth having, and a great value, especially if you buy it at ~ $35.

These came fairly quickly, were a good price when I bought them, and are quite pretty compared to my other files. They take material off fast, on both hard and soft woods, and they don’t clog as much as my other rasps. They feel comfortable in the hand, have a grippy feel to the handle, and I haven’t snapped one yet when I get rough with the wood. I’m not a titanium nitride expert, but if that’s what they are coated with, then when blowing off the stuck bits with compressed air, it is really easy to clean these files with now. They come with a pretty cheap feeling cover, but it works…
