We have been using similar door stop without the "foot release" feature for many years. The door is located between the garage and the house and is spring loaded so that it closes automatically to keep the heat of the cars from entering the house. Sometimes we use the door stop to keep the door open for frequent access such as bringing the groceries in. Our last door stop lasted over 20 years and still going. However, as we age, our back is not as willing to bend over to release the thing when we want to close the door. This door stop with foot release is an absolute godsend for us.It is very easy to install for me since the holes alignment is compatible with the old one. Just remove the old and screw in the new. However, it could be a bit awkward to install if you need to drill new holes because the "release level" is in the way of the top screw which makes marking the holes on the door difficult. It would help if they include a hole mounting template sticker in the package.The adjustable height of the rubber piece is a nice touch. I suppose as the rubber is wearing off over use, you can adjust the rubber down to keep the surface of the rubber flat on the ground and extend the life of the product.The only thing that I find it annoying is it makes a lot of noise when I release the stop. Its probably because the mechanism is loose (to prevent stuck) and the coil spring inside is very strong, the kick stand will flip up quickly and rebound from the door after it is released and therefore the noise. Otherwise, this is a 5 star product.

This are to pop up with tapping on the top arm. But they don’t. This was the number one reason for buying them. Not happy at all

Honestly I've never used these style door stops in a home before so can't compare to other brands. Just like the ones from back in gradeschool days except the neat little release peddle. Super slick. Garage door pain when trying to bring in groceries solved. The door would push even heavy items and close on me with holding an arm load of groceries but this did the trick. Feel really solid and was surprised based on the price. Everything you need to install is included. All of 2 minutes work with a screw gun to solve a 3 year old annoyance.
