great for the microwave and good for general use

First, I did’t buy the plates for microwave use. I have other microwaveable cups/bowls for that. I use a large red plastic microwaeable cup/bowl I bought on Amazon called “Home-X Microwave Soup Mug with Lid, Microwave Soup Bowl with Handle and Vented Lid, BPA Free Dishwasher Safe, 32oz Capacity, 7 ¼" L x 5" W x 4" H,†which has a vented lid to keep food from splashing all over the microwave and which keeps the heat directly inside the container where the food is.I just had the basic problem of needing plates. I had only ever used compostable plates with no need to clean, just dispose of, for a person who only occasionally cooks for their one self. But with the rising prices of compostable plates, I decided to switch to permanent plates and only use compostable plates if they were really needed such as for really sticky saucy foods and then I would use the permanent plates to serve as plate holders. I’m a klutz so ceramic and fine china were out I ran into these.As another reviewer noted, they do have higher walls than the average Walmart plastic plate so it’s more difficult for your food to just slide right off. The plates seem like plastic but are sturdy. And yes, they stack together perfectly. They’re easy to clean with wet wipes or napkins. When I learned they were microwaveable and had cool-touch, those were also pluses in their favor, but as I said, I don’t use them directly for cooking; I was just looking for low priced serviceable plates/plate holders. Even if something happened to them if I used them for microwaving, I’d just buy more later. I mean, with 4 plates for $11 ($2.75 per plate) for just myself who only occasionally cooks, it’s not a big deal to just buy more now or later.

The tab that sticks out & the rim of the plates stay cool & make it easy to transfer when hot .. But transfer the microwave plate (or the food) onto a real plate or plastic platter, because the bottom gets very hot. OR .. Just don't touch the bottom! Was glad to have something MADE for the microwave, that would heat food without releasing toxic chemicals like plastic, styrofoam, etc Or get hot all over like glass & risk breaking. Easy to clean. Haven't had long, but enough to heat things up 6-7 times without incident & well suited for our needs.

My sister uses her microwave a whole lot ! Those plates were the perfect addition to her daily routine : microwaveable , un breakable, light and resistant and easy to store !Great deal!

I just received my plates and we use them constantly. They are light weight, very easy to use and wash. It doesn’t seem like they are going to stain either. The plates come in handy to warm something small or a full plate of food. I like the fact that they have a little side tab - easy to pick out of the stack. I think the price is good for four plates.

The product was advertised as Microwave and Dishwasher Safe. They had a melted plastic spot in the middle of the serving side after only 2 minutes in the MW (separately). They warped as shown here in the first Dishwasher run on normal setting.Do not buy these plates if you plan to reheat food on them or run them through the dishwasher.

As a pensioner I have a large number of Hearty meals which requires heating for 6 minutes, these trays are ideal for heating meals and other foods. I now can remove cooked items without burning my hand.Life is much better with these trays

Much bigger than I thought, but ok for what I want, didn’t really want 4 but my friend will use them. Have only reheated on them and they’re fine

These are wonderful. Not hot to the touch. I put my lunch in them for 3mins, and they were great.
