Hard to rate a piece of metal. However, it appears to be well made. I like the base plate that is fairly easy to attach to your pool deck. Assuming you have a concrete pool deck, you will need a hammer drill. Using masonry drill bits, you drill four holes into the concrete, tap in the plastic sleeves, and then screw in the bolts. Not much to go wrong if you drill properly and have the correct tools. The end result is a very sturdy pool rail that should last for years. The rail comes with all of the necessary hardware. Installation took less than an hour. No need to hire someone to do this, unless you don't want to purchase a hammer drill if you don't have one. I bought an inexpensive one and it worked fine. If you called a pool company, you would pay about 500 bucks for the entire project. Even if you buy the drill, you are still way under 200 with this rail. Having a rail for your in-ground pool stairs is a great safety feature. I would highly recommend this product.

Best investment ever! I can now go in and out my pool feeling secure every time. We did buy more secure fittings for the rail due to the different weight of people using it but other than that it was overall a quick installation. Highly recommend!

This was easy to install using better anchors than came with it. Otherwise well constructed and does the job. I especially like that it doesn’t need to be in the pool water. Now it is essy to get in and out of the pool.

Item arrived a day early and I couldn't wait to install it. Got out all the necessary tools and proceeded to drill the holes. I first drilled a 1/4" pilot hole in the cool decking then finished with a 1/2" bit to complete the task. When I dropped in the first plastic anchor it fell to the bottom of the hole. WTF I thought maybe I used the wrong bit! Double checked the bit, it was 1/2". The anchor would spin inside the hole every time I tried to tighten the bolt. After numerous unsuccessful attempts I decided to get the real anchors (lag shields) from the neighborhood HD. The new anchors worked perfectly and the rail is solid. Moral of the story is, don't try to use plastic anchors in this particular case. The cost was an additional $4.34 for the 4 needed.

Easy installation. Wish I had gotten this product a few years ago. So much easier and safer for elderly and those with handicaps to enter and exit pool. Highly recommend

I bought this handrail and had it installed into the concrete deck of my parents in ground spa. It is the perfect height to get in/out of their spa. They are in their 80’s and had quit using the spa because they couldn’t get in/out safely. Now they can. I did go buy a little heavier stainless steel bolts and mounting hardware. Not sure I really needed it but didn’t want to take any chances. I would buy one again if I needed it.

Anchors provided are cheap. Ended up using concrete anchors which I recommend for stability over the anchors provided by the manufacturer. It is going to take some patience drilling the four holes straight into patio stones/cement to align with the holes on the steel base. You will need a minimum of two people to install but would recommend three people to do the job right the first time.

You need to use better cement anchors than what is provided. Handrail is good
