This is way bigger than expected. You definitely want to use this with a hoist of some kind like a crane or tractor. The pads are held on with M6 screws. We are going to see if we take the pads off and install screws backwards (as "teeth") if we can use this as a shrub remover.It had no trouble picking up an 80lb flywheel, but it doesn't always want to bite. Once it grips the harder you pull the harder it grips.The only downside for us is that the designer didn't take the time to make the pads align. They are offset by about half an inch. It wouldn't have been hard to simply offset the mounting point of the pads. They still could have manufactured identical pads to use on each side, but they would line up.

This is cut out of some thick iron and it works well with a lift point hook or locking link. I only wished I waited for the version I have seen where there are two attachable bar handles that use two bolds on each side to attach to this so it can become a two-person lift. Sometimes you only need a small task done, not one involving a gantry or engine hoist.I am very happy but I noticed that the metals now rust faster than ever so keep it in a dry storage place or better yet, thin coat it with a rust inhibiter (but not on the pinch point pad).
