The Greenstalk is the absolute best garden system! I first purchased the 7 tier, and later purchased the 5 tier. In the images it shows how well the tiers work together. The slow irrigation system is brilliant. My plants are happy and growing daily. The tiers can be adjusted to different heights. I chose to combine the larger and smaller planters and make three stacks instead of only two. These are much easier for me to water. I have planted herbs, tomato, zucchini, squash, peas, beans, and so much more. I am already planning another purchase from Greenstalk. These are amazing because there is little to no weeding. I am no longer fighting with the local wildlife with these up on my deck. Each of these 5 tiers have 6 planters - that is 30 planters in one simple to water system. With some early crops and later harvest crops, I am able to get 4 full garden beds out of one system. The watering system allows for a slow water release that thoroughly waters the plants. These are incredibly sturdy and stable. These are heavy when they are well watered, so consider the Greenstalk rolling carts. These can be direct sow or for plant starts. I started seeds in these inside in the bay window - with a tray under them to catch any extra water. I then moved these outside when it warmed up. This has made my gardening - so much better!

This is a thoughtfully designed planter that works very well in our little courtyard (growing zone 9b). It was easy to assemble. The water actually does do a pretty good job of distributing between the tiers. Took the plug off the bottom because the bottom tiers stayed significantly damper than the top (have a handheld little moisture probe). I kind of folded that in half vertically and used it to significantly slow the water flow from the top basin through the center conduit giving it more of a chance to leak through the small weep holes to the top planting tier. That evened the watering out significantly. Bonus points, with the flow slowed I can fill the water basin rapidly and thoroughly mix in a bit of fertilizer as needed. I have started a variety of winter green and veggies from seed and everything planted to date has sprouted, put on secondary leaves and seems to be thriving. Even DH admitted that it is functioning well. Kind of a “Who knew” moment as we have had a lot of “give it a try” gardening fizzles through the years.

I absolutely love mine. Filled it completely with strawberry plants. You water from the top and the water gets to all the different levels. I’ve set mine up on an auto timer. Plants look super healthy so yes, very happy with this purchase and thoroughly recommend it

I could wish it was 25-50% larger. Really depends what you plant in it. Yes, as it is it is one of the larger stackable planters. Am using it for herbs. Does OK for that, though could be even taller levels for me. For instance, the levels are each about 10" tall,,, but my basil and oregano can be 15-20" tall.It is certainly too small for larger veggies like tomatoes, peppers, squash, and so forth. I guess they would grow, but would never be the size I get in raised beds. So will be used for herbs and perhaps flowers.I did find a wheeled base is nice to have, so I can turn it every few days, to even out the sun exposure for the plants. Ended up making my owns, using the wheels off a cheap Harbor Freight furniture dolly and a simple base I made from pressure treated 2x6 lumber. On top of that I put a large drip pan, and then that planter on top of that. I had seen I could buy ready made things, but pretty sure what I put together is a lot more sturdy and capable, as well as cheaper.I will probable make a simple screen for the top too. Leaves and seeds collect in the open top as it is now.Anyway, will be a useful thing to grow herbs in. Hopefully lasts awhile, as it wasn't cheap.

So far, I love it. Right now, I have my early spring veggies and herbs planted so I haven't filled all the containers yet. It was easy to assemble... but heavy, so you may need help. I like that it waters evenly from the top. There are Facebook groups of avid gardeners using this product so you can learn what's working and not. Most people in the groups have purchased more than one and right now, they are loving the pink one.

Yes, it is more expensive than others but it is made very durable that will last through many seasons and after sitting out cheaper plastic gets brittle and cracks. I live about 30 miles south of Atlanta so I decided to try planting in winter. The two in the picture have green beans, black eyed peas, basil, cilantro, hot peppers, and pinto beans. I have a small propane heater if temps will go below freezing. Also got the herbs I had in individual pots cleared up since there are 30 plants per tower. The pots are huge so lots of room for roots. So even though herbs look separate they aren’t so you can companion plant in them. Greenstalk has great videos and blogs on their site to give you ideas as well. I will continue using them throughout the year because it will give me more space in the garden to plant other things that I could not before because I didn’t have enough room. I HIGHLY recommend the rotating base. I got the stationary one without wheels. I have grow lights around them now but outside you’ll need to turn to ensure light gets on all plants. I just planted my seedlings in the photos. All legumes are bush varieties. I have a third one to put in the house sunroom over winter with bush tomatoes mostly small plus basil, oregano, thyme, and hot peppers. The sunroom and kitchen are attached so it would be nice to pick tomatoes or fresh herbs to cook with. My sister is asking her husband for one for Christmas.

I hardly take the time to write a review but we were really happy with this. It is sturdy, thick plastic, easy to put together, and is cost effective compared to some other ones I found on amazon. It's about 5' high and we have many plants that are happily growing in it. Really glad we purchased this.
