Received a faulty thermo switch, it happens with sealed parts. Not the sellers fault! They placed a replacement in the mail, same day.

Does not turn on when installed in radiator Hose assembly , never gets hot enough. Wont get hot enough in upper radiator hoseDoes not turn on when installed in radiator Hose assembly , never gets hot enough.installed in a inline radiator hose inlet. but unit dose no get hot enough, try to go to a cooler temp sensor.OBDii reading said engine temp had to get to 215f before sensor turned on fan. probably would work if installed in head or radiator itself. I will try going to a cooler temp sensor like a 170deg.tested with heat gun and than unit did turn on fan. so it just wont get hot enough in upper radiator hose.

This temperature switch is supposed to turn on at 170 degrees, off at 155 degrees. The American Volt switch I installed on 1-15-22 turns on at 179 degrees, too high for my application. American Volt has not responded to my emails and does list a phone number to call. The chat room they list does not work either.I can't recommend this vendor.

My 2020 Honda Talon x4 fan stopped working 3 weeks ago and I decided to go with larger fan with more CFMs and had everything installed except this temperature sensor which came in yesterday (quick delivery) and I installed it and grounded it properly and drove the vehicle around to better heat it up and after pulling back in and parking it with it idling I heard the relay kick in and fan came on and ran for about 2 minutes and relay kicked off as designed and fan stopped. Let this happen 4 more times and zero problems. I have no temperature guage to read the cut in cut out degrees as I have not installed my temperature Guage yet but it definitely keeps the temperature within the factory readings of only 2 bars which is factory specifications

The last switch I had (different company) lasted for over a year (maybe 2). I believe these shouldn't wear out for a decade or two so that leaves me waiting. The accuracy of the switch is very important to me as I run two and have two settings on my electric fans. These are about as close as I could expect them to be for their open and closed circuit settings. If the settings don't start having a mind of their own and they continue to live...I'll install these in all of my projects.I love to build the cars and trucks that I do...I hate to find out the weak links via upset customers.

Purchased this in April 2024 when I converted my explorer to an electric fan. It installed easy and performed as expected until today when I noticed the fan running with engine cold. Went through the circuit and found this switch grounded when it shouldn’t have been. Maybe it was a fluke, or maybe the switch took some damage riding around in the center console until I finally got around to putting it in, I’m not sure. Either way, the price is right so I’m gonna order another one and see what happens
