I have the Groz 8" outside caliper which is nicely finished so I expected the inside caliper to be the same. It is like they forgot the final step and left it unpolished. It does NOT hurt performance but I like my tools to look nice and I keep them that way.

Spring is a little stiff, but I always squeeze the arms together a little; to take pressure off when adjusting the knurled nut. Plane polished steel finish (not a shinny finish) that's OK. Heavy lube covering that you need to wipe off with a clean rage (not parts cleaner).
