How to find the right stool
Measure
First, you need to measure the height of your counter, island or tabletop
Calculate
In general, you need at least 9-12 inches between the top of the stool and the bottom of the counter so you can sit comfortably.
Example
For instance, if the height is 39-41 inches, you need a bar stool that's between 27-32 inches high.

I got this to sit on while I help my friend with her dogs at dog shows. I stand in front of a grooming table for hours at shows. I got this so I could sit. It is tall enough that I am head level with the dogs and it holds me at 230lds. Also folds flat and weighs nothing to haul around

I got this because I play double bass and needed a taller stool in a pinch.This stool is conveniently portable and not super heavy. Carrying it along with my bass is decent. Folding it for the first time was pretty shitty, and I have to put quite a bit of force into closing it months and many uses later. I can't fold this stool with one hand which sucks.Also, as expected, this stool is not comfortable whatsoever. Definitely can't sit through a 2 hour practice session without needing a break. It just barely does the job. I can say it hasn't broken or fallen beneath me, I weigh 125 lbs.

This stool is good enough for me, I only bought one to test, I think maybe I need more. It was super easy to assemble. The material is sturdy, and the stool feels very stable with no wobbling. I feel secure sitting on it. The height is perfect for my kitchen. The overall design is simple and very easy to storage.

I am quite satisfied with this product, I am using it at a little beyond it rated weight capacity and it still seems to function well, the only thing that I might point out - only for someone that may have some disabilities affecting their arm and hand functions, that its not completely easy to fold up, but its not exceedingly difficult either, I think that this probably has to do with its stiffness in being new and not broken in and loosened up from use yet.Its not heavy to handle by any means, but it is not quite as light as might have been expected if it was constructed out of weaker materials such as aluminum, I think the trade off of a minor amount of extra weight for the additional strength is quite acceptable and the stool is still quite easy to carry with its built in handle, I personally have a disability that makes it difficult for me to stand for any length of time, and in addition to that, I am well over 6 foot tall, I use this stool to assist me inside and outside of the shower when I travel and with this stool’s extended height, it is quite compatible for someone that is of a taller stature. Again, I’m quite satisfied with this product.

This is very uncomfortable to sit on once you are able to get it opened and be able to get on it. The cross bars on the legs are too low to be able to boost yourself up on the stool and once you do its is uncomfortable and awkward to sit on. There is no place to support your feet once you are on it. It was also really difficult to get it opened and it doesn't close easily either. If you find it isn't quite what you wanted, it costs almost 1/2 the price of the item to be able to return it. I don't like to purchase items that are not through Amazon prime but had looked at so many stools that I missed that this was a 3rd party seller and it costs $20.00 to return it. It is very tall which is why I purchased it but I really regret buying it.

Use in rv for extra seating. Size folding is great for storing. Great quality I’m 350 lbs and super durable no thought of it breaking. Hard as rocks might add my own padding. Good value and height for table. Stays clean.

Bought this stool for my mother to sit when she needs to do some food preparation work in the kitchen. The stool is very sturdy so I don't have to worry about her falling from the stool. It is just the right height for her so she can get in and out the stool very comfortably.The stool is foldable so it doesn't occupy space when not in use. I am happy with this purchase.

I was looking for a collapsible counter height stool that I can use for food prep in the kitchen. This stool has a solid feel to it, a sturdy seat and locks into position when open. It folds down into a narrow footprint so I can squeeze it into my small space. I am returning it only because there were several large paint chips on the legs but I have already ordered a replacement because it is otherwise perfect for my needs.

Yeah, it needs to have the cross braces reorganized. They're too low and thin to help you up, and you know it's just a tad too tall to get onto without a step. I mean, the metal is already there. They need to raise the cross pieces up a few inches and strengthen them so they can help you up and then a place to rest the feet. Again, obviously good and solid and it inspired me to order a proper bar height swivel stool, with padding and back. And this stool makes a perfect table!. It's very stable and strong. So is the top which is a plastic material similar to a cooler for lack of a better word. Light and strong seat top. Locking clip does a super job and this will not collapse at all.
