This was a great deal on the combo lead and head halter. I use the head halter for training difficult (stubborn) adult boxers and it is an effective temporary tool. However, the Halti lead is the best nylon lead on the market, super versatile. Feels great in your hands, you can even walk 2 big dogs at once with this lead without buying a coupler. However, on that super wild child, it allows 2 points of securement...this is a great safety mechanism. For day to day use, I love the lead clipped to itself mid way as a large hand loop, allows for easy handling. And, even rescued a stray with it used as a slip collar. Outstanding quality. Plain black... simple. For a little flash, love the Lupine collars... but for the hard work of training tough dogs (or challenged owners), I love the Halti Lead!

I'd like to say my dog loves the lead. She doesn't. It goes around her nose, and she doesn't like that. But she like chasing squirrels far more than I like chasing after her while she is chasing them. She accepts the lead with resignation but isn't throttling herself in her enthusiasm for the chase. I call that a win. It doesn't hurt her. She can't slip it off easily, although she has managed it once. The safety clasp kept the halti attached to her collar and thus the leash. She is a husky/blue heeler mix, and her 'come when called' response can depend too much on the presence of other furry things. The safety clasp keeps her from running off after her nose and the halti itself keeps me from being yanked off my feet. The really good thing about it is the progress we've made on loose lead walking and polite interaction with people. A firm grip and a little downward pressure on the lead keeps her from jumping on people, to the point now she is automatically sitting to get attention from them. This is a great tool to use while working on overcoming some of the intransigent behavioral issues dogs can have.

Love the ease this item has for helping train my service dog! He loves to pull (he's only a year old) as he has a LOT of puppy left in him 😊 However, when he has his halti on, jes much calmer & less likely to pull. Best description I can think of is to think how a bridle works on a horse. Control the head & w gentle pressure everything else follows. Absolutely LOVE this product because I now don't worry about him pulling so hard as to hurt himself.

I work with my German shepherd and leash pulling is her bad habit. She is only 2 so still a bit immature.I bought this because my GSD community couldn't stop praising it. It does help but please, just like the reins of a horse. Yanking and tugging DO NOT HELP it only makes matters worse. Use gentle guidance. Just relax and eventually your furry companion will too. Think that when you are holding the leash it is made of dry twigs, if you use a heavy hand you'll mess up your dog and make walking your dog as big a chore as it was before the device. Also, you could severely injure your dogs neck by yanking or pulling. Worst case scenario, simply stop walking. If you aren't moving forward, your dog isn't likely to do so. Walkies are supposed to be enjoyable for you and your dog both. This item is well built. An added bonus to the head harness is an added strip of reflective material. It gets bright when only a little light hits it. Sewing looks good, release is a little too stiff but that will change with use. I love both the principle behind this idea and love the construction. However, it got rated 3 stars because instead of instructions, you get a YouTube video. I shouldn't have to do that. I like instructions, I can read, can't type but hey, I'm retired. Sod that nonsense.C'mon, y'all can afford offset photographic printing for advertising your products but can't even insert a letter size instruction sheet ? That cost ya this time

I’ve used Halters before on previous dogs, however it’s been a generation since I needed one. With my current Labrador puppy, I really persevered working on loose lead walking and in theory he ‘got’ it, but he was also all over the place whenever he was stimulated in the least, we also had issues with him scavenging anything he could off the ground in front of us. The vet nurse in me shuddered every time I had to pull a gumnut out of his mouth as I mentally reviewed his insurance in case of intestinal blockage and surgery. Finally, at 9 months old when we got to the point I was actually dreading walking him, I put him in a halti. Absolutely the BEST decision. Now my boy strolls along beside me, occasionally turning to sniff or watch something quite happily then return his attention to where we’re going. He’s aware of me most of the time, our groundwork stood us in good stead & I usually just need to stop walking for him to stop moving ahead of me, but the big difference is that when I do occasionally need to redirect him, he actually listens. Now our walks are pleasurable, he wags his tail constantly & watches up at me occasionally looking for approval, I enjoy our camaraderie, and we get many compliments on what a lovely dog he is as he shows off his delight in being a good boy when people pass us. This is not a replacement for training, nor should it ever be used forcefully, but when used appropriately it is a game changer. I’m finally feeling bonded with my lovely dog, and giving him the happiness he deserves. We’re even learning hand signals for his commands, and venturing to busy areas such as shopping centres (outside) to work on his reactivity under heavy stimulation, all very successfully. Finally we’re set up for success and I couldn’t be happier. PS the lead is fabulous too, soft and a great length, love how adjustable it is

Jax moet er nog aan wennen. Hij trok steeds aan de riem en dat werd zwaar voor mij. Deze halti gekocht en ben er super blij mee. Kan nu weer een gewone wandeling maken met hem

The device's chin halter got damaged in 2 weeks time. The functionality was good while it lasted but simply couldn't last longer.

I have a 20 month old Border Collie who hasn't had lead training before. As a result he pulls badly on the lead and weighing 22Kg has been hard to control. I have tried all sorts of leads and choker collars to no effect. This head collar arrangement with the double lead has solved the pulling immediately.I am absolutely delighted with the product and recommend it if your dog pulls. The one I bought is size 3 and fits perfectly.
