This thermometer works okay, but it's not the most precise. It's good enough for basic temperature readings, though.

This is a very simple to use dual input thermocouple temp measurement meter. When compared against my Thermotemp, both registered 100C, within 0.1C in boiling water (we're located at sea level). So, at least at 100C, this is accurate.The comes with (2) K-type thermocouples, and (2) stainless steel thermocouple sheathed probes. It also comes with a basic "heavy duty", non alkaline battery. It comes with 2 screws for securing the 9V battery compartment closed. I stowed the 2nd screw, in it's teeny zip type bag, inside the battery compartment next to the battery, for safe keeping. The meter registers in C, K, and F scales. It's simple to cycle through those ranges. It has a convenient flip-out stand, which can still be used with the yellow rubber protective bumper in place.Minor annoyances1. The screws supplied for the battery door are to small in diameter. The screw does not actually tighten in the hole. It will be replaced with a 2mm screw when I remember.2. The yellow rubber bumper is not great-fitting. It is a bit loose, and feels cheap, but will probably stay on the unit if dropped on the floor.3. Main irritation - the slotted openings for the K-type connector are polarized. A K-type connector, including the ones supplied, have flat blades that slide into the socket. The + terminal is narrower. Unfortunately, the two plastic apertures through which the K-type connector is inserted, are both the same size, which fits the larger negative terminal. In other words, this probes can be installed backwards. If installed backwards, you will get incorrect and confusing readings. I've never seen a K-type temp probe meter without the slots being polarized.Please heed the tiny molded markings on the yellow plastic terminal blocks when you insert them into the unit.Frankly #3 is a pretty major oversight and should be fixed by the manufacturer. This product, as a result, really warrants a 3.5 star, but I like the rear kickstand and it's still a good value at the present price point so it gets 4 stars, with the caveats above.To KereinpoPlease guys...fixing #3 is a steel-safe trivial plastic mold change for the front faceplate. Do it!!! Fix it. Otherwise you will see product returns because customers get wonky temp readings.
