This cord works great. If you have 50 amp service because you have a second air conditioner, this cord will work for you. When you have one ac unit, everything runs on one 30 amp circuit. This cord gives you two 30 amp circuits (at least (10 AWG wire is rated 30 amps)) when plugged into a 50 amp plug. That's twice the capacity. If you have a big rig with a washer and dryer, this cord may not be for you as you may draw more than 30 amps on a leg or circuit. However, think of it this way. In your home, you don't need a cord that will carry 20 amps connected to your table lamp (which draws about 3 amps) just because the receptacle is connected to a 20 amp breaker. You only need a cord that will carry the current load required. The nice thing about this cord is the ease of handling. No more heavy lifting and fighting the heavy 6 gauge cord. I put an 18 inch, 50 amp camco pig tail on my trailer and used this 36 feet extension cord. I only have 50 amp service because I have two ac units. The loads should be balance from the RV factory on the two 50 amp circuits, ie, one ac unit on each leg or circuit. I hope this helps explain wire size of cords and current loads.

This has a 50 amp plug which gives you 2 hots. It's a 10 guage wire so you shouldn't exceed 30 amps. Many 50 amp rvs rarely use over 30 amps, but the 50 amp pedistal will have a 50 amp breaker, so if you plug in this cord and inadvertently exceed 30 amps on either leg you will be exceeding It's capacity. If your RV has a way to limit the input current (which mine does since my power all goes through a hybrid inverter)then no problems if you set the appropriate current limit. For other applications if you plug this into a 50 amp plug and can put in a 30 amp breaker then it's an awesome 30 amp extension cord, and at the end you can add whatever adapter is needed. In summary this cord is an awesome value at around $50, but since it's a 30 amp cord with a 50 amp plug you need to be very careful not to overload it.

Well made product - my only issue is the gauge of the wiring between the end plugs. It is significantly lighter than the 59amp cable in our motorhome.

Cant beat the price compared with other cables. Just as good. and i wanted the 8 gauge wire instead of 10 for extra insurance as using generator for longer uses and max load.

I received a shorter cord, 25 feet instead of 36 feet, with a defective end that clearly had started to melt from a short. Amazon resold it and shouldn't have.

Ok people, know what you are buying. This is a 30AMP 10AWG x 4 conductor cable. It has 50 amp "style" connectors, but it is NOT a 50 amp cable. So, the connectors are kind of goofy. I suppose they put 50 amp "style" connectors on it because it is a 4-conductor cable, but it will not handle 50 amps!! I bought this to run a 30 amp circuit in my trailer and it was the length I needed for the price. Therefore, I will cut off the connectors and just use 3 or the 4 conductors.

Like other reviews and the product description mention, this is 8 gage wire, not 6 like is typical of a 50 amp cord. While I have a 50 amp rv, it never pulls 50 amps. This cord was similarly priced to a 30amp extension which I used to use when I was too far away from a power outlet. With this cord there are two legs of power, not one like the 30 amp cord has so it can safely carry more power. At home I put a 40amp breaker on this so I will not exceed to cord capacity.
