I bought this to protect my Tascam DR-07X when I travel and it's held up very well. Perfect size for the recorder, extra batteries and cables! Nice, solidly build case would be perfect for any like-sized product. My wife actually took mine to store a mouse and dongle in so I bought another one for my Tascam!

My Tascam DR-40 fits in this case perfectly! It lays inside, not loosely, but not too tight -- my DR-40 doesn't rattle around in it, but I don't have to dig it out, either. The case is rigid, but still soft and flexible, so I'm confident my DR-40 would be well protected from a tumble with barely any weight or bulkiness. The zipper is quite smooth, and I get the impression that it won't bind up or split.It's well-designed and appears to be made of high quality materials and workmanship. The soft pouch that came with my DR-40 is nice enough, but I wouldn't trust it to protect my expensive DR-40 as well as I believe this case will. It's well worth the price, and you won't be disappointed!

I am still debating if this is the case I actually want to use. It appears sturdy, and the fit is VERY snug.Although there is a netted compartment in the lid, and you CAN fit three AAA batteries in it (along with some SD cards), there really isn't enough clearance to prevent the batteries from pressing rather firmly against the keys and/or the LCD display once the case is closed. I've attached two pictures; one of them shows the gap caused by the batteries. I wouldn't recommend trying it, honestly.Tip: if you are using this case with a DR-40X, I found that it's easier to get the case out by sticking your index finger between the two mics (at the base of the mics) and then lifting the recorder out by tilting it up until you get enough of it out to grasp it.

a durable well designed case for the dr. 40-x tascam portable digital recorder. It's soft inside, rigid on the outside and has a pocket inside for your cable, extra batteries and/or mic windscreen. very happy with it, would buy again

This case fits the Tascam DR-40X perfectly -- and by that, I mean "with very little room to spare". This is good because it means the unit is held securely when in the case, but it also means you won't be able to stuff anything else in there, except maybe a thin USB cable on the mesh holder on the underside of the lid. The case itself is semi-rigid -- you wouldn't want to put anything heavy on top of or against it, but it'll hold its shape and protect the unit from most bumps and knocks from things in a backpack, which is what I needed it for.

El hard case está hecho de un material que protege la tascam muy bien. La malla por dentro solo servirá para incorporar unos audÃfonos pequeños pero sà caben. A mà me ha servido para transportarla en una mochila sin preocuparme si estoy dañándola cuando dejo la mochila en algún lugar.

Fits perfectly, does the job, decent price. Just eight days from ordering to delivery, having been sent from US to UK via Amazon fulfilment and Royal Mail. Very good.

Feel an outer bag could be useful for extra stuff but the case is neat and strong. eg fluffy sound muter etc.
