I love the design of this kettle. It’s sleek but can fit into a modern kitchen or a classic kitchen. It’s aesthetically exactly what I want in my space. It heats pretty quickly and does whistle when the water has come to boil. It’s easy enough to wipe clean on the outside, and the inside and bottom are all stainless steel. My only complaint is that the handle does get quite hot. This is not unusual for a tea kettle, and they even include a hot mitt for convenience. I just have had some kettles in the past that have been able to manage a handle that didn’t get quite as hot.Overall though I would definitely select this kettle over others as I think the design is super cute.

You can buy a much cheaper whistling tea kettle, but the price of this one is justified by its superior quality. The materials used and the overall design (both modern and functional) are superior to what you will find with most others.Personally, for health reasons, I try to avoid cooking in aluminum cookware. This tea kettle has aluminum on the bottom (for fast transfer of heat) sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel. The water never touches aluminum. You get the quick-heating benefit of aluminum with the entire interior and bottom-layer made of stainless steel. Sandwiching aluminum between two layers of stainless steel certainly adds to the price, but in my opinion, it's well worth the extra cost. When I opened the box, I was very pleased with the overall appearance, and I was also impressed that there is a cork insulation mat so you don't have to leave the kettle on the stove until it cools down; simply place it on the cork "coaster" and you won't harm your countertop. The manufacturer also included a pocketed pot holder. There is a warning sticker on the top of the handle (please remove the sticker) that says to use the pot holder because the handle gets hot. I think that probably depends on how long you leave the kettle on the stove with hot water in it. I just did a trial boil, and the handle was certainly not uncomfortably hot. I also like the fact that the whistling cap has a lever so you can tilt it up and have it stay up when pouring. I poured without spill or dribble. If you are looking for a tea kettle, and don't mind paying a premium price, this is the one I would recommend.

Very nice tea kettle and the whistle can be pretty loud, which is nice, since I have a hearing issue. Nice quality and will last for a long time.

We are a tea loving family and often need a kettle plus oveflow saucepan when guests are visiting. We love the ½ gallon capacity on this Harriet Tea Kettle. Whistle is OK, what you'd expect. Handle is sturdy, but it's a design flaw in my opinion that you need a potholder (included) to grab the handle when the water has boiled. There is a small, clear warning label printed in very small, faint lettering warning that the handle is hot. This label is so difficult to see that I felt it before I ever saw it. The weight distribution given the pot's capacity and its spout and handle locations make pouring awkward. Rating 3+ or 4-
