Gave five of these out at Christmas to my grandchildren ages 6 through 8. The book is well-made the invisible ink/pen works perfectly and the whole “lock up your diary “ concept was intriguing to them. However, at this young age with no real exposure to Harry Potter, and not much in the way of writing skills nor journaling, I think this is a gift suitable for a much older child who is much more into Harry Potter.

(Review by my 11 year old)It is really good quality for not being a very high price. It has plenty of pages and the lines are small so you can write lots of words in it. The lock and key are very useable. The key turns in the lock incredibly easily. And it comes with two keys so you can't lose it. Well, you can but you have another one if you do. It's a very nice size if you want not a big book but also not a super tiny one. The invisible ink pen is great, although it does fade over time.

The only thing my gf didn't like was the lock, besides that quality can be seen. Hard cover. Beautiful design. The invisible ink it's actually pretty fun to pley with!
