This part is of nice weight and quality with track surface matching OEM. Reasonable price, to have on hand in case yours fails, or is damaged during a battery replacement. My original trackpad buttons had become hard to press without much depth of press. I suspected swelling of the lithium battery was the cause, but was not positive. (spoiler alert) That was the case, and once I replace the battery, the original trackpad still worked fine. As a result I did not end up installing this one, but glad I had it available and would have used it had it been needed for the quality looked very good.Watch some instructional videos before attempting a trackpad or battery replacement. The current battery will need to be removed for either. Typically the glue holding the battery is dissolved/released with acetone or alcohol; I used acetone intended for fingernail polish removal to do mine. The trackpad is below a plate under the battery, so if you are not careful with how much and location of the solvent dispersed, you risk soaking the trackpad, melting the speakers, or damaging the screen coating. There is definitely some risk, so don't do it if you are not confident in your skills.Watch a few instructional videos before you start is a good idea. I used a thick nylon thread, a thin expired insurance card and credit card to dislodge the bloated battery which came out without any complications. Once the battery is out, it will be more apparent if you have used an excessive amount of solvent that may have cause issues. In my case I saw no evidence of that, so I did not remove the trackpad shield to replace it. Still I was ready had that been necessary. Even after everything was back together, I immediately checked trackpad function which had returned to normal. Had I needed to replace it looked like the new battery could have been taken out if done soon after, for in my case the tape strips on it were not super sticky. I suspect after it warms when cycled thru a few cycles they will set making removal to do the trackpad replacement more difficult. Hope this info and my experience help. Good luck, and be careful.
