I installed the kit from JD that is supposed to prolong the life of the tractor starter and starter solenoid. Well I guess it sort of did. Sorry to say, while those 2 parts were spared, this relay (part of the kit) failed. Unfortunately the results were the same in that I had to jumper around the relay to continue using the tractor but I guess money was saved in that I was about to find replacements here for around $8. I bought 2, you know, just in case. Seriously, have a spare and be glad it's not a $100+ starter or $50 solenoid. I think the relay that failed was around 15 yrs old so I'd say not bad for an electrical component subject to the beating this relay did while using the tractor.
