I recently bought a Dell U2723QE 27-inch monitor that comes with a male-to-male DisplayPort cable.Since my Lenovo IdeaPad 3 laptop only comes with a HDMI input, I decided to try this adapter. At first everything were more or less ok, besides the fact that the adapter itself gets incredibly hot and that the Micro-USB input that it has for the energy cable is not in the best location. The next day, everything was fine when I started using the PC in the morning; then I locked the PC, and that was the last time I could use the monitor.I tried basically every option (check the Windows Display configurations, disconnect and connect the adapter, changing to which of the monitor's ports the cable was connected to) but it was all useless, the monitor wasn't getting any signal. I think the 5 hours that I had the chance of use my monitor are not worth the $16 I paid for the adapter, so I began the return process.I'll be getting a HDMI-to-HDMI cable next, let's hope everything goes well with this option.

It works but the enclosed USB power cord supplied with device isUSB C. The adapter is only for a USB Micro.Not a big deal considering that the adapter doesn't really require the power.

I tried the THANDBLE HDMI to DisplayPort adapter for 4K@60Hz connections, and it works well with my laptop and Xbox. The compact design is nice, I can see why some people have had different experiences. it worked well for me but it overheats when you play for about 3 hours and makes the screen just turn black.

Returned this once -- originally thought it was a returned unit because they sent a USB-C instead of a micro-USB. Got a different one. Turns out it wasn't used -- they literally pack the wrong cable.For both units, the display cuts out after a few minutes. I disconnected the units, and they are burning hot like there's a short somewhere. Unsafe and potentially damaging to your equipment.

This thing is a lemon, it does not make secure connection with my laptop or my cable. I have to hold it just so or my screen wouldn't work properly. As soon as I let go, it begins to crap out and disconnects. Also, every time I shift my laptop on the table it disconnects as well. It does allow me to connect an HDMI-only laptop to a DisplayPort display, but I just can't get it to stay connected.
