just as advertised. this mat works extremely well for its size and weight. I did experience a log that was fully engulfed in flames that rolled out of the fireplace onto this mat, after i placed the log back into its position in the fireplace, the mat showed no burn, scorch or any damage. It's a keeper and I recommend this purchase to anyone who needs a light-weight mat for fireplace mishaps that looks good.

Its thinner than I was expecting but seems to work, does slide around easily which is annoying but overall ok for the price.

This is not a rug, it looks nothing like the picture. Granted I should have read the fine printing a bit more, but in my defense my search was for a "rug" not a mat. I'm debating sending it back, considering it took about a month to finally get it from the shipper. With that long of a delay I was expecting more than a flimsy piece of material that looks nothing like a hearth rug.

Its not what I expected at all .Not a rug .It serves the purpose for me just to protect my flooring (it does)but not very compatible with my decor.I only put it down when we are using our fireplace.

I thought this rug lol (definitely not a rug) would fit the bill...I put it in place in front of the fire in our living room. My first thought was that looks bad... ! When the wife come home she took one look at the rug as described on Amazon (definitely not a rug) she said get that horrible looking thing out the house.. I describe this plastic thing as something for industrial use only .. if I was the manufacturer of the plastic thing (definitely not a rug) describe as an industrial fire blanket and definitely not something to furnish a home .. it just a very bad peace of advertising don't call it a rug .. it's like someone selling a camel and saying it's a cat.. it's not a rug or an object that has any place near a home setting . I'd only recommend this product to someone that needs a fire blanket in a industrial setting .
