Doing some remodeling my project includes all new doors and frames with no pre-hung doors. These have made the task much easier getting everything lined up.In the past, when rehanging doors that were already installed, I've simply used anything on hand, or foot, to put under a door to install it. Some of the lighter doors like hollow, Luan doors, have been easy. Some of the heavy ones not so much. If I was simply rehanging a couple of doors I wouldn't spend this much on these. If there were a lot and/or on a regular basis these would be well worth the cost. With all the online classifieds now it would be easy to reclaim most, if not all, of that cost if you only need them for a one time project.These would be especially great for anyone in home building and/or remodeling.Great product. Good value.

I got this because I put a heavy exterior commercial hollow metal door on my barn. When I was first installing it I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait to get someone to help me and sure enough I lost my balance trying to hold the door in place, stand in the door opening that was about a foot off the ground at the time because the concrete sidewalk had not been poured yet, and screw in the hinges all at the same time. The door went flying to the ground and hit some rocks and put some bad dents in the edge as well as the face of the door. I was sick that I had paid more money to get a brand new door instead of a scratch and dent and now I had dented it anyway. I have never painted that door and my wife has been on me to do so. When I saw this installation kit I figured I had to get it because it would make taking the door back off to paint and then put it back on a breeze all by myself (I hate asking my friends for help). I was a little skeptical at the price and that I probably wouldn't use this but this one time and maybe on rare occasion after that, but went ahead and picked it up anyway. It is well made out of steel, the welds are a little sketch and the casters I don't think could hold 700 pounds, but it worked for my 100 pound steel door with no issue (besides, I have never seen a 700 pound door). It is easy to use also. It would have been nice if it had come in a plastic case for easier storage, but I will probably put it on a shelf and forget where it is if I ever need it again anyway.

Installing a new door is always a problem - especially alone. WE ahve antique doors weighing 80lbs plus. This is a great aid. Wish I had it decades ago.

If you have ever installed a door by yourself I am sure you know how difficult it is especially if they are French doors, and these just make it a simpler and more pleasant experience.If you have help these are probably not worth it but I am off the grid and build everything alone so they are priceless.When you as building the door jambs and installing a solid door alone it is hard to make sure it is level, drill holes for the hinges, and hold the door at the right angle, while screwing the hinges in etc, which the wind blowing and your hands and the foot you are using to prop the door up to the right height getting sore lol.If you understand the struggle of that last paragraph this is the tool for you.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken

This is a heavy duty door dolly. Very well built and durable. Used this setup to install oversize doors on my shop. Had a helper due to the weight of the doors, but the dolly did its job. Really a time saver. For smaller doors, I'm sure you could fly solo. I can easily recommend this and, even though it's a little pricey, it's well worth it in the long run with the time you save.
