We have had one of these for six years. It's attached to our bottom deck stair and spends at least 6 months of the year buried in ice and snow. The rest of the year it gets used to scrape off all of our garden and yard dirt and mud. Other than one thin crack in the wood it is just as sturdy and functional as the day we got it. The bristles are still stiff and the whole unit is solid. Cleans the worst of the mess off your shoes without damaging them. Highly recommend!

UPDATE: After a week or two owning this product, the wood started the split and crack. It still works very well but there are models made of solid composite that do not crack.I bought this for my job because I was tired of the crappy one we had. The one we had used really short bristles and the mud always got stuck in them. This model has long stiff bristles that do a great job at get the mud out of treds. For people like me with wide feet, the sides of this product do bow out a little when you're brushing your shoes. The only thing I would add is a brush on to that cleans the top of your boots. It's understandable why it's not there, I just think it'd be cool.

What I like most is...mama isn't running behind me with a vaccum/mop grumbling about muddy shoes (LOL) Really, I have needed one of these for 50 years! It does the job.

Its a boot cleaner for 20 bucks, it'll clean your boots. Save yourself and anyone you love that's mounting this for you a headache though and use different screws. Whoever was in charge of picking the screws included with this either actively sought out the lowest quality screws they could find that'll strip in three seconds and are entirely too large, or they just hate their customers. Either way, and I cannot emphasize this enough, the included screws are absolutely awful. As far as cleaning your shoes, yeah, it'll do that. And at a decent price. I just hope you have some different screws laying around.

Where we live, we don't have to worry so much about snow. Instead, mud and fir tree needles are our main issues. Mud is only an issue after needing to work in the yard for fall cleanup but fir tree needles are a year round hassle. We were always either sweeping or vacuuming up fir tree needles, a daily chore it seemed. We have one of those front door mats that are supposed to clean up your shoes before entering the house but somehow, the fir tree needles always seem to follow us inside. The boot brush cleaner has officially solved this pesky problem for us. After a quick brushing of both shoes, we are fir needle needle free for once. And when we do have those occasional snows, this should work beautifully after shoveling the driveway and sidewalk. No more soaking wet floor in the entryway as the snow falls off and melts. The quality of this boot brush cleaner is superb. It's very well built of heavy-duty and sturdy materials including metal, wood, and stiff bristles. I was actually surprised at how stiff the bristles were. They don't appear to be the type that would wear down anytime soon and should maintain their stiffness over time. Also included with the boot brush cleaner are 4 screws for mounting so that the boot cleaner stays put. I highly recommend going with this option. It can be mounted directly to your deck or you can affix it to a small piece of wood so that you can hold it still with one foot while you clean the other and then switch off. If I had to choose between a front door mat or the boot brush cleaner, I'd go with the boot brush cleaner every time. A quick spray with the garden hose every now and then cleans it right up making it ready to use like brand new again.

My wife has always hated the mess that my boots made in the entry of our home after coming in from a long day at work. No really....this has been a point of contention between us for quite some time. I decided that I needed to find a solution that would help to not get me in trouble with her anymore. The last time I played a round of golf I saw a brush much like this product outside of the clubhouse to clean your golf shoes and I thought there must be a similar product for my boots that I wear everyday. I took my search to Amazon and I came upon this product and decided to purchase it.When it arrived a few days later, my wife asked what I had ordered that was in the Amazon box. I opened the box to show her what I purchased and she was ecstatic that I was finally doing something to clean up my dirty boot problem. I love that it has a mounting bracket so I can secure it just outside our front door. It is well constructed with metal reinforced sides and the bristles tough enough to brush away dried, stuck on mud on any shoe or boot. I was a little worried that my wife would not like this right outside our front door but she says it actually looks pretty good. I think that it just gives her piece of mind that she won't have to clean up my mess everyday after I come in with my dirty boots. As they say "Happy Wife....Happy Life" :)This is a great product! I will be recommending this product to all of my guy friends, it may save them some grieve with their wives as well.

This boot brush/cleaner has become almost a godsend for us. The brush is long and stiff and easily cleans even the most dried on mud off our boots that we get from working on our acreage when we are in wet mud and come back to the house. It's been so nice not to drag in gobs of goo into the house just stepping inside the doorway. Liked it better than another type we got with short brisls and rubber scrapping area that does not really clean off everything well enough. So we bought a second one for the back door! We like it lots.

Looks well made but there is a tiny split in one of the wooden side panels. Did have a problem bolting metal base plates as nuts were 9/16 AF, I haven't come across these for years. Overall a good piece of kit.

Mounted on a board you can step on to hold in place, it was effective in cleaning the sole and sides of boots. Does not do the front.
