The Hercules DS504B Piccolo Peg is brilliant. It is long enough to prevent the scary "wobbles" and soft flocked to avoid scratching the inside of the instrument. It is light yet sturdy and fits both wooden and silver piccolos. This item is just the peg NOT the complete stand (read no base included). It is made to screw into Hercules brand instrument stands. It is the same size screw as on the Hercules flute pegs. This allows your set up to be interchangeable according to which instruments you need to have with you. At home I prefer to use this peg with my On Stage Stand base because it fits into this as perfectly as it does the Hercules stand but the On Stage base is solid cast iron (which alleviates stress, over instrument toppling, when practicing with children and pets nearby.) I would say that this Hercules DS504B Piccolo Peg is an essential piece of equipment for any piccolo player (student through professional). If you don't have one yet, treat yourself - your piccolo deserves a special (secure) place to sit other than your lap!

Fits all Hercules flute stands very well. Only complaint I have is that mine is came a little bent. My piccolo sits sideways on my stand.Its a good peg though.

Fit my Hercules instrument stand perfectly. My piccolo fits like a glove and is secured nice on the stand. Easy fit for travel bags too!

I left a review for the Hercules Flute/Clarinet Stand DS543BB. I was (and am) really pleased with the stand.I purchased this additional DS504B (Velvet peg for Piccolo) because I hoped the smaller size would be a good fit for my YRS-24B plastic Yamaha soprano and YRA-28B plastic Yamaha alto recorders. Yes! It is a good fit for each/both.My YRT-304B plastic Yamaha tenor recorder fits well on the DS502B (Velvet peg for Flute/Clarinet), in case that helps anyone make a decision.Many would question my purchasing a stand that costs more than both the soprano and alto recorders put together, but they do a fine job for what they are and this stand (and peg) does a great job of keeping them off the floor and out from under my arms when I’m not using them.I’m very happy with my purchase

I had an older Hercules piccolo peg and would not fit my Gemeinhardt Picc. It still worked initially cause it was velvet just didn’t go all the way down but over time and with temperature changes the felt wore away and the piccolo would get stuck. I bought a newer one and now it fits my composite gemeinhardt and pearl piccolo perfectly. It did come with a nut on the bottom. It screws into my alto flute and regular Hercules stands dine. I just don’t know why this is there if I should take it off or not. It’s gives it some height so I may leave it I just don’t understand it’s purpose. I thought maybe it unscrewed from one of my Hercules stands but the nit only fits in the outside.

Can not be used on other stands because the part to screw into the base is too big.
