It works pretty well, but I don't have a lot of trust in it to hold an indicator rock rigid. Maybe that's just me, as I can't really quantify why, it's just a feeling.Now, as a fancy adjustable flashlight holder, it's the business! I put a 10mm allen wrench in it, zip tied a flashlight to that, and BAM; intense light on your point of interest. Get ya a small metal plate to put under it, and you can use it just about anywhere. Too Short to be practical for anything. I tried this every way i could think of on my lathe and i just can't use it. Its too short to be useful. Also the magnet is really weak and easily comes off. Barely enough power to hold itself up. Finally the compression locking joints are finicky at best.
