Don't know what people are crying about, it's great for the price. Definitely won't move a lot stronger than I thought it would be. Almost seems too strong for something as delicate as an indicator, could easily see hitting indicator on something trying to pry it off.

Used this on an engine for measuring the crankshaft thrust. Magnet holds really well, and allowed a quick way of attachment to the flywheel and have a dial indicator against the case for thrusting.

Worth the price, I got 2 of them, strong magnet. 3 stars because of poor quality control. The first one ordered I had to mill the top down just a bit for the indicator to fit and for it to be level. The second one I needed to take far more material off the top for it to be of use. If you have access to a milling machine in 10 minutes or less you can make them very comparable to brand name MightyMag for a 1/3rd of the price. I would buy again.

I took a chance on these as they are half the price of the name brand magnets. First impression was pretty iffy due to the low weight on them. However, I will say that they seem to hold with sufficient power to the lathe. Held one star back due to the fact that all of the holes on these seem to be 8-32, and do not have a 1/4-20 screw on them to mount on the side for the dial indicator. This can allow the indicator to move at the worst possible time if the screw is not tightened enough. I could probably drill and tap them to 1/4-20, but for that headache I will just spend the money on the original mighty mag in the future.

In my opinion fine for horizontal surfaces don't know why they make magnets that aren't strong enough to do what they're supposed to do I personally didn't like this much
