Great little PIR sensor, great range and sensitivity. Works as advertised. all three worked.

These are tiny and don't require any adjustments to use. All of them worked perfectly for me. The range is probably 10-15 feet. They do need a 'warm-up' period before they start giving consistent readings. As soon as they're turned on, it runs for 2 seconds, but it usually takes about a minute before the readings are consistent. I use these with 3 volt logic micro-controller. Definitely recommend.

According to an well known YOUTUBEr and Arduino S/W & H/W engineer, he thinks the RF emission from a near by device, could cause PIR devices unstable. He tried many but only AM312 worked stable. It is inexpensive and works on both 3.3V or 5V. It is small too. My only complain is that the sensitivity at 3.3V power condition, it may will sense a motion for a distances no further than 3-4 feet. For sensing distance any further, I think you should consider higher(5V, etc) supply voltage or a larger size lens window.

Trivially simple device to work with, at least in Arduino/ESP32. Just a single wire after VCC (3.3V-12V) and Gnd. There are some libraries but totally unnecessary. In minutes I had a simple example working. Can recommend a great RandomNerdTutorial, search for “ESP32 PIR Interrupts”. The sensor has a limited range but perfect for my application., dimming a clock when nobody is around. Cheap and simple.Sadly, just 2 of my devices worked. The third triggered at random constantly which made it useless. Solder quality is poor so I reflowed the entire module but no change. I needed the module for a project so I didn’t want to return all 3 and wait for a new shipment so I accepted a 33% failure rate and that’s pretty bad. In short, module good, build quality poor. That’s my second bad product from Hiletgo, the other one (ESP32-S3 Mini board) they wouldn’t even reply to repeated support messages about. I’m not sure I will buy from them again.

Have not used these as of yet. If they work then there will be no more review

Perfect for use with Raspberry Pi. Wide input voltage range, no adjustments. Output is always 3 Volts regardless of power supply. These will not directly drive an LED so if testing that way, use a 2222 or similar transistor. Sensitivity is better at 5V or higher than at 3V. All of mine worked right out of the package.I will build something to mess with the cat!

I've had some PIRs like this in the past and they worked fine. Unfortunately, like others are saying, the QC on these are terrible. All three PIRs like to go off randomly. I can't get a consistent reading. I really thought my code was wrong or that my ESP8266s were acting up. I spent A LOT of time and effort before finally realizing that the problem are the PIRs themselves. Go elsewhere.

This device works perfectly and responds shortly in more or less 2 seconds.

Consigliatissimo
