I use these on all my refrigerators and freezers. That gives me an early warning if the power is out or it's time to defrost. No more wondering why the ice cream is soft :)As noted in other reviews, the accuracy is +/- 1 degree, which is more than good enough for my uses. The seller corrected the listing to show this correct accuracy. While they are shipped with batteries already installed and on, that has not been a problem because the batteries last a long time--maybe a year or more. When the display gets scrambled or hard to read, just replace the batteries.

The picture says it all. Ice water shows 32 plus or minus half a degree, second pic is boiling water. good display and accuracy! Exactly what I needed and at a great price!

These digital thermometers provide excellent 5-star value for the money. However, I deducted one star because the Amazon listing OVERSTATED their accuracy by a FACTOR of 20!!Performance is misrepresented in the “Product Description†by stating an accuracy of “+-0.1â€, whereas the box (first photo) clearly states a more reasonable +-2 F accuracy, which the units do indeed achieve. If you bought these believing the “Product Descriptionâ€, you would be sorely disappointed. (Temperature resolution is also misstated. The box correctly lists the resolution as 0.2F, whereas the “Product Description says “0.1â€)I bought two lots (10 thermometers) for household A/C and temperature monitoring. A quick initial test showed that all did indeed display degrees Fahrenheit, all LED display segments appeared to work, and all displays looked crisp with high contrast in normal room light. The displays are not back-lit, so won’t be visible in the dark without some illumination. For quick initial accuracy testing, I strapped groups of 5 sensors together, and blew a boxer fan at them (second photo), allowing time for them to settle. My reference temperature was provided by a 100-ohm platinum RTD, whose accuracy has been previously verified. (It’s inside the small copper tube in the photo.) The RTD temperature was read using a four-wire hookup to a precision meter (photo 3).Results? All units were within +-0.9 F – well within the accuracy stated on the box. One was right on, five read low, and four read high. If time permits, I’ll provide a more comprehensive evaluation.Bottom line: at two bucks apiece, these digital thermometers provide exceptional value.

Had a temperature gauge go out on my compressor. These perfectly replaced the one that had went out plus these are in fehrenheit.

Used it for my motorcycle and works perfect. Velcroed it above my tach where easily seen and so I could take off if needed. Ran the probe line through the faring and twist tied it to be in open air but out of the sun. It responds quickly to temp changes and the only time it is wrong is if the engine is hot and sitting still for a while. Once moving again it fully corrects within a minute.Gave a few away as freezer monitors.

easily within +/- 1F for all 5 for boiling and freezing water. Sensitive to what the probe is touching. So if it's laying on a bag of frozen peas in the freezer, it'll tell you the temp of that spot, which may or may not be the same as the freezer temp. To get an "ambient" temp of a freezer or whatever, the best readings are when the probe is "floating" in mid air, not touching anything in the freezer. If you're doing something that is ultra temp sensitive, like some science experiments, you'll wanna bust out the wallet and buy the good stuff. If you're monitoring the temp of a cooler or freezer or something similar, where close enough is good enough, these are a home run.

I'm using these to measure pipes on a boiler, and they seem to be pretty accurate so far -- and they're within a few degrees F of each other, as claimed on the box, though the product page says "+/- 0.1", which actually appears to be the "display resolution" from the box.The listing also says "Temperature range: -50~ 230 Fahrenheit", but the side of the box says "-58 F to 158 F". At the same time, it also says "-50 C to 110 C", which would be a maximum of 230 -- so maybe that is just a typo on the box. I've only measured up to about 150 so far, so I'm not sure if the display will show amounts over 158 F.

It's pretty good and accuracy is within reasonable range. I'm using this to troubleshoot my auto air conditioner and it comes in handy. The only downside is that it came with the battery installed, there's no pull tab for the battery. Buy at your own risk as it might come with dead battery. The one I am currently using has faded number on the lcd, a sign of weak battery. I bought the bundle so I ended up taking all the batteries out so it doesn't drain them all.I probably would not recommend to others because of the battery situation. Given 3 stars.

It arrived reading in Fahrenheit. I wanted Celsius and there is no way to change it over
