One of our two dogs is a very picky eater. He has to have some kind of wet topping with his kibble or he will go on a hunger strike. We thought this was a behavioral issue, but had a scare with some GI issues that seemed like bloat so took him to nearest ER vet. No bloat, and he had vomited and released his glands on the way to the ER so seemed better by the time we got there.ER vet explained he likely has sensitive tummy and is not only a picky eater (although not eating kibble without topping is just him being spoiled). The reason he would stop eating a certain topping after a while was not because he was bored of it, but rather because he associated that particular food with an upset tummy. As someone with celiac disease, I cried for making my poor boy eat things that were hurting him. She suggested searching for sensitive tummy or limited ingredient foods. We went with Hill's Sensitive Stomach line and tried different flavors. Turkey was his favorite and he was been eating it without hunger striking for at least 4 months now. Sometimes we mix in a little pumpkin for constipation and he likes that too.Buying a bulk pack on Amazon takes almost a dollar off per can compared to our local pet food store. This particular flavor is a "stew," so is bits of meat and veggies in a gravy (rather than the "loaf" which doesn't look appetizing to me and I think my buddy agrees). We will continue purchasing until he tells us otherwise, and then we'll probably try the other "stew" flavor from the same line.

Let me first say I was never a fan of Hills Pet Food. That being said I had tried many sensitive skin and stomach foods for my dog, Her coat was very flaky and dry. I have been buying this product for a few months now and i can honestly say i see an improvement in her coat. Bonus.. she loves the food.It is a little pricey but worth it not to see my dog itch and scratch. Her coat feels softer and not all dry.I believe this food ( formula) has helped with that.I use anything but chicken incase shes allergic to it.It’s expensive as my dog is 90lbs and 1 can will not do I feed her two and she gets a little dry in between.$49.99 for 12 cans. . Not much in 1 can for lg dog.

It does what it says it will do. The dogs are VERY excited to eat it. It is actually nice to see the parts of the food inside (rice, meat, veggies). The smell, to us, is a bit like a tuna salad, which isn't the greatest every single day, but it's an easy to ignore. The dogs had no stomach issues transitioning to this product. And we have had much fewer upset tummies and a LOT less scratching since starting (really noticeable by week 2). Per other reviews, yes, there are often dented cans in the case, but not so much as to be concerning. Our issue is the cans are pull tops, and the pulls break off a bit of the time, so we have to go to the good old can opener anyway.

Three times lately our case of dog food has arrived with at least 3 dented cans. Funny thing is it’s always cans in the middle of the case. I refuse to serve my dog recovering from cancer food from dented cans.

My dog will only eat this food and he will not eat anything else. He loves it and he has a pretty sensitive stomach and it works well.

My aging dogs could no longer eat dry and needed a healthy wet food. This was highly recommended and their tummies seem to love it as they have sensitive tummies.
