The Angry Mechanic sez, This is a great tool to have if you do a lot of axle and differential work. It allows you to remove the bearing race without destroying it. Axle bearings are NOT cheap, so being able to reuse them can make this tool pay for itself pretty quickly.It works basically the same way a Power Steering Pump Pulley remover works. The tool catches on the lip of the bearing, and a screw is tightened to pull it up.This won't work on every differential pinion bearing but it works on many of the most common American axles.My only complaint is that after doing very little searching I now realize that the current MSRP of $168.97 is rather rich as there are others with all the same adapters for significantly less money.Great tool, sub-par value.

Removed pinion bearings without heat. No issues with any aspect of these tools. Recommended.

I've never used this kind of tool before, and pulling out bearings used to be a real hassle. But using this tool made my job so much easier this time. Even though the tool isn't very big, it looks durable enough.
