TDS = Total Dissolved Solids, which is any salt, metal or mineral in the water. I can't comment on accuracy, but it seems to be working as intended for checking the TDS of a freshwater shrimp tank.

Thank god for amazon as they allow return of items thatdo not work well. I have tried ten of these TDS pens and this one that looks like this has three manufacturers but they have this shape and they all have the adjustment screw, calibration screw on the back. I thought that meant you need to calibrate but these pens this being one of them are the only ones close to real and I got three of the same type, and they all ready less than 10 PPM apart which is fine for me. I can also calibrate them all the same which is fantastic as well

I use this for my shrimp tank, as they need a specific TDS range, and I mineralize my water. It works very well. I also use it to gauge when I need to change the filter in my water pitcher. I think it's starting to show its age after 2 and 1/2 years of constant use, so I'm buying another one just to be safe.

Usei um medidor e constatei que a água do filtro tem a mesma qualidade da água da torneira, com o mesmo número de resÃduos. Tudo foi instalado conforme o manual. O produto me ajudou a ver que fui enganada

After a month’s use monitoring drinking water, I've found it accurate and consistent. The unit delivered came with batteries and a carrying case included. Also included was a note from the suppliers asking me to get in touch if I noticed any errors - nice touch.Some reviewers have noted continuing varying read outs. I've noticed something similar when used with hot water but didn't find this a problem as it was mostly used with room temp water.In my opinion, it's accurate to within plus/minus 2%. This is based on ongoing readings given on municipal water, distilled water and stored samples. Granted, these aren't 'standard' samples but over time these samples confirmed the unit's accuracy and repeatability, in my opinion.I bought it to use as a quick check on my Brita water filter's performance and this it did admirably.

Al parecer mide muy bien el TDS (Total de sólidos disueltos) en el agua. Sin embargo me confundà a comprarlo ya que en realidad querÃa medir la dureza del agua (cuando busqué "dureza agua" en Amazon salieron infinidad de aparatos para medir el TDS). La dureza es otra cosa (cantidad de magnesio y calcio) mientras el TDS son todos los sólidos. Los suavizadores no afectan el TDS, solo la dureza, y compré el aparato para verificar el funcionamiento de mi suavizador.
