What Is TDS and Why Should You Care ?
TDS = Total Dissolved Solids, which is any salt, metal or mineral in the water. The lower the TDS level in the water, the more efficiently your bodys cells can use the water. Conversely, higher TDS levels can indicate water that is more difficult for your body to use and has more contaminants that can pose health risks.
TDS testing is like a “watchdog”. It is a great way to monitor the general water quality of a known source. Although good or bad TDS is relative to the water being tested.

Some of the reviews stated that they had received inaccurate ones so I was a little wary but I’ve now used it to test multiple batches of water from different sources and it’s been very accurate and fast so I’m happy with this tester. I use it to test tap water and filtered water, to ensure that filters are removing particulate and not adding more and masking the flavor with carbon.

This product works really good for what it cost. I did notice it’s not always 100% accurate all the time but close enough for growers needs.

We bought the water tester to check our filters on the r/o system. Instead of randomly changing the filters, the water tester gave us an accurate read of the water. Also, the tap water was tested, which gave us a good idea on the safeness of our r/o water. Very easy to use and quite a good item to have on hand!

The TDS meter was super easy to use, and was accurate, and consistent. I used it to measure feeding solutions for my plants, and to check the total desolved solids in the runoff for each plant as well.I used it successfully to grow 3 plants to maturity, and three more plants to the middle of their lifespan. One day two weeks ago, I used it to measure the TDS in 3 separate gallons of water before feeding them. No problems. After collecting the runoff sample from the first of 3 plants; everything worked fine. I rinsed and cleaned it after turning it off, then put the cap back on until I was ready to use it for the second plant. When I was ready, I turned it on and the screen was completely red. No numbers, nothing displayed at all, just a red screen.I tried pressing the Clear button, but nothing happened. I tried turning it off, but nothing happens when I press the power button. Just a blank red screen. None of the buttons seem to do anything, so I removed the battery and it turned off. I waited a minute and put the battery back in and the screen was immediately red and blank. Again, none of the buttons work, and the only way to turn it off is to take out the battery.I used this TDS meter for approximately 4 months without issue. Then one minute it was working, and the next it wasn’t. No warning signs or issues noted. It just stopped working one day after having been working just fine. 🤷â€â™‚ï¸

Great item to check on the quality and purity of your drinking water for TDS ( Total Dissolve Solids ). I used it to compare my tap water, before filtered, to my filtered water. There was an improvement to the filtered water. This also helps you know if your filter is working the way its supposed too. This tester helps to reassure you for the quality of the water you are drinking and give you a peace of mind. Very easy to use and came with an extra battery. I also like the color and its interesting to use. I would highly recommend this tester.
